It's not the course....it's the setup.

The tips at Inverness play at 7730 yards.

Doesn't the home team have the ability to establish how the course is setup.

If yes, then the Mericans have only to blame themselves for not setting up the course to their player's advantages.

'Thing is, I'm not sure the Americans have an overall advantage in driving distance. I thought they did, but looking at the driving stats the Americans are ranked 4th, 9th, 10th, 27th, 28th, 33rd, 61st, 96th, 109th, 119th, 142nd, and 146th.

The Europeans are ranked 7th, 12th, 18th, 21st, 25th, 26th, 56th, 68th, 80th, 94th, and 106th. Emily doesn't have an LPGA ranking, but she's probably Top 50.

So, while the Americans hold the highest ranking, it sure looks like the Europeans are longer collectively. Heck, Anna is short off the tee, but she's longer than Megan, Mina, Brittany, and Lizette. 'Set up the course long, and the advantage likely sways to the Europeans.

I'd be ditching the pod system.

WTF is the reasoning behind the pod system anyway.

How many points did Team Jelly secure ---THREE, Im sure the Captain thought SIX was a slam dunk

How many points did Lexi come up with--- One and a half

Danielle Kang - ONE point

the name big guns did not produce, plain and simple

Did anyone else notice how Jennifer Kupcho gave a half hearted air hug to Leona Macguire after getting trounced and then stormed off, maybe she isnt the gracious loser after all

Yes, was never a fan of hers bec of that kind of unsportsmanlike behavior  amongst others. (And there are other "attitude" problems that need no mentioning here anymore as people in the GC have talked about it last night).

Way overthinking it. I think it’s just how we were raised vs Europeans. American society is very “self” centered, everyone is special etc, generally people dont travel out of the country as much where European cultures seem to be more inclusive and are surrounded by many different cultures and people so have more of a “team” mentality by nature. Plus Americans are way more tightly wound than Europeans with the exception of Spaniards 😂😂😂

What? I didn't even think of my reason for over 1 second! "inventing something cool to say" or something "new" to "impress" happ🤣ens all the time here in Toronto biz mtgs too (even online mtgs) -- "we need to show something new, quick, just to say we did something (lol)" -- the pseudo equivalent of  slow playing in golf 🤣

This.

I'm giving Pat a "F".

She seems so unlikeable when we see/listen to her interviews.

The Meyers-Briggs Personality tool is what that Pod thing is. Assembling like personalities for golf, to me, does not apply. IMHO, grouping complimentary, not similar, golf styles/games may have been more effective? Just a thought.

In any case, Mrs. Hurst did not inspire me. She was more concerned with "bonding" and "having a lot of fun".

Hence Jessica Korda dancing on the first tee and Ally Ewing singing Karaoke to Don’t Stop Believing.

It’s one thing to have a unique walk-up/intro on the first tee but another to have to entertain the crowd in addition to playing in a competition.

I don't blame Hurst....it's the players that are hitting the shots.

I just think Pat doesn't have a great personality and doesn't seem likeable...maybe affecting the lack of a great team environment.

Just listen to her when she's interviewed.

Gotta believe it's one and done for Hurst.

YOu did just say that the course setuo didn't favor her players.  If that isn't getting in the way of the team having success, I don't know what is.

As a European it always makes me chuckle after a Solheim or Ryder cup when the US loses, its the captain, its pod systems, its the course blah blah blah

Maybe, just maybe, the European players just played better that week, it does happen, look at Patrick Cantlay, 2 good weeks and look what hes won, or maybe the US players just arent that much better anymore

I would disagree.  I don't recall Davis Love getting much crap after Medinah.  There are times the players lose it, but there are also times the captains really screw up any chance the players have, either through setup, pairings, preparation....  remember Pavin's "waterproofs" incident at his RC?

Did Europe play better?  They won, so sure, you can say that.  Was the US team put in the best position to succeed?  I have no dog in this fight(US vs Europe).  It just seems like Hurst was focused on the wrong things, and did not do a good job.

It could well be that the European operations are run much more smoothly than the US.  Does Team Europe have a team sommelier at a Ryder Cup?

"Did Europe play better?  They won, so sure, you can say that" - Are you suggesting you think the US played better? imo the US were quite lucky they got to 13 points

They were playing on home soil, in front of their fans only, with the "best players", im not sure what else they could have had in favour for them to be honest

My pick is for C. Kerr as the next captain for the US and Sophie Gustafson for Europe.

Unless she's now cured....Sophie stutters.

So it could be an issue with team members and the media.

Maybe Petterson or Stupples next?

I looked at the career money list.....there aren't many choices.

Yea that Finland flag is just up there to fool people. It’s a conspiracy!!

Dude, its Wikipedia.

https://www.lifeinnorway.net/scandinavian-countries/

Norway, Sweden and Denmark are the three Scandinavian countries. Finland and Iceland are sometimes included in a broader definition by some, but the correct term for all is the Nordic countries.

https://www.scandinaviastandard.com/where-is-scandinavia-a-guide-to-the-scandinavian-countries/

Finland and Iceland are not considered part of Scandinavia geographically.

If you’re speaking of a specific current geographic or political context, “Scandinavia” means the region that includes Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and the Faroe Islands. If you’d like to include Finland and Iceland in that same context, use the word “Nordic.”

I think thats enough about that topic.

The big issue is Americans care little about team golf and less about women's golf

Tru Dat.

The Solheim gets out the fans that just want to dress in red, white & blue and chant USA USA ALL THE WAY.

Where are the galleries at regular LPGA events and even more so....the majors on US soil?

Those galleries pale in comparison to the attendance at the SC.

I think the only major that had a really big gallery most recently occurred in 2015 at the USWO at Lancaster, PA.
