Any busy guys who wished they could golf daily, then unexpectedly got all the time they ever wanted ?

In the years leading up to retirement I was able to play more often than a lot of working people. Played every Saturday, Sunday and holiday (weather permitting) and would use most of my vacation time to go on golf trips. I'd also play after work quite often during the summer. So I'd get in easily 110-120 rounds per year while still working full time.

 

When I retired I immediately started playing golf five or six days a week. Basically I'm limited by the weather (too cold, too hot, too raining) and the fact my body can only take 4-5 days in a row of golf before it needs me to skip a day. I imagine I'll continue that in the future unless injuries or illness make it impossible. 

 

So not literally "every day" but in approximate terms I'd say yeah, golf is a daily activity for me now that I don't have to show up to work instead. Just as I imagined it would be for all those years.

One thing I've noticed since retiring and being at the golf course most days...

 

There are quite a few guys in their 30's and 40's who are also there playing nearly as much as I do. Most of them allegedly have full-time jobs and most have families. It makes me wonder if their "job" and their "familiy" necessarily know that they're spending 4-1/2 hours in a golf cart with 6-pack or two in the cooler in the middle of most weekdays.

The work from home guys.  I call them the work from the golf course guys.  I had a neighbor who did this, he just had to answer texts from time to time while we played.

Retired, live on a golf course.  Play 3-4 times a week and that is enough.

4 to 5 rounds a week for me. Pretty much retired, mid 40s. I work 3 to 4 a hours a month. 

 

I enjoy it, take weekends off to rest the body and family time. I love it... Fluctuate between 8 and 10 index.

3-5 rounds on weekdays since the snowbirding kicked in this winter.  Hate weekend golf basically because slow play and crowds.  Having an affordable monthly membership fee has been a blessing.

I play less now than when I worked.

 

Only get out once a week, that seems enough for the moment outside of trips away.

 

Think a combination of Covid (very restrictive in Australia) followed by having an extended period of rain that has waterlogged my course has produced the result. Got out of the rhythm of playing 3 times a week and don't really have the desire to go back.

3 times/week is plenty of golf...more than that might wear on me physically as I like to walk when I can.

 

When I play too much I get cocky, trying to hit shots I have no business hitting.

 

If I play two or three time a month I just try to make good contact and generally score better because of it...

Interest rates have created a lot of down time at work. Golf less now than I did when I was busy at work. Probably the nerves keeping me away from the course.

Just retired, play 2x a week 18.

Practice 2x week, 1 full swing and 1 short game session

Sometimes I'll play a executive course nearby that has great greens. Fun track.
