What did you play after your CMBs? Buying soon.

I have sold 2 sets of CMBs in the past and keep coming back to them.  I am in the market, having a fitting on Tue, and am wanting some advice on where to start w the fitting.  I have yet to find another set of irons that feel as good as CMBs.

 

What did you play after you retired the CMBs?

Depends?  You looking fir same style of iron? Less forgiving? More forgiving?

I literally just got fitted for and received a set of Ping i210s to replace my CMBs.  Had them for a couple weeks so far.  Really enjoying them.

 

They don't quite feel as smooth as the CMBs did, but I am in love with the consistency of the i210s.  Every shot seems to go the same distance with them, and I'm finding that they just seem to want to go straight.

Looking for something with a little more heat.  Due to wrist immobility, forward shaft lean is minimal in my swing, so something with stronger lofts is kinda where I'm looking.  Interested in the new T100S line. Srixon is intriguing too.  

 

The most important thing for me is feel.

I did not do this, but you can Power Spec the i210s to be significantly stronger lofted than the CMBs.  On spec, i210 is 1* stronger than CMBs.  i210 also has a pretty similar offset progression to the CMBs.

I had a set of s55s that I power spec'd but have to come to loathe the feel of cast clubs.

A frequent playing partner of mine retired his CMB's and replaced them with a set of JPX 921 Tours.  He loved his CMB's but considers the JPX to be an 'upgrade'.

What did you play after you retired the CMBs?

My CMBs are still in my bag, but their replacement is being built... Srixon ZX5s... I was going to go on a hunt for the perfect replacement... I went to a TaylorMade fitting, and then the next week a Srixon rep was in town... I remember the first time I hit the CMBs in 2012 and how much I liked the feel... The ZX5s were the same for me... 

 

I had meant to check out the Cobra MIMs, as I've heard nothing but good things... but sometimes you just order the set in front of you...

 

Granted, I'm still waiting on my set to ship... so I don't have any on course feedback... but the CMBs have been awesome, so hopefully the ZX5s are better!
