Hybrid that doesn't go left.

I've typically had trouble with hybrids wanting to go left, therefore have settled with just a 3 iron.  I don't mind it off the tee, but from the fairway it is significantly harder to hit than my 4 iron.

 

I'm partial to ping woods the last couple years, but would be willing to try out other brands.

 

What do you all suggest?

Ping has a flat setting that will help with your 'lefts'. Also take a look at Titleist. They too have the adjustability to help. As always, get fit! A shaft change could help!? Maybe look at 5 and 7 woods. They might surprise you?!

I had issues with the G400's pulling left off any sort of tee. Got fit, as most will suggest. I wound up with the big "-" setting (opened up) G410's and I have been very happy both off the tee and the deck.

Adams makes a solid hybrid and swing it like you would a 6 iron

Mavrik Pro is one of the better anti left hybrids I have played. Sits square to just a hair open. Flight is straight to fade bias, for me that is. I’ve had it in my bag since they were released and haven’t thought about switching.

A bought G410 hybrid month ago after reading alll the Ping Love.Started on the Flat setting but didnt need it.G410 hybrid very easy to hit.Great resale also.

22 set at 24,then 16 adams tight lies 4wd then 10.5 917.

The open, flat lie on titleist fairways for me is just a slice to offset the hook...not really any use to me so sold my 915,917,tsi fwys,cheers,Roger

I believe the Mizuno CLK hybrids are the flattest hybrids available. Couple the flat lie angle with the ability to open the face and you might have the most anti left hybrid on the market.

The new Cobra Tec hybrid with the weight in the toe is the most anti-left hybrid I’ve ever hit. Loving mine!

816/818 are the first hybrids that i have ever got along with for this exact reason.  I have not tried newer ones from Titleist but I am loving my new driver and 3 wood

Some head designs definitely have a bias, one way or the other.  Combine this with the wrong shaft and some will end up with a club that really wants to go left

Build it at iron length, add weight to the head to get the head to iron head weight. Swing it like an iron.

Take some lessons, the “hybrids go left” thing is so over exaggerated on here. 
 

I play with a couple scratch guys and multiple low single digit guys and everyone of them could hit any modern hybrid from a major manufacturer and keep it in play consistently, as long as the shaft is right.

When hybrids boomed back about 2005, the average ones had a fair amount of offset. The goal was replace long irons with a club that was easy to hit, including square up.

 

The pro and tour hybrid heads were more likely to have square faces. This helped to limit left misses for those who had good motion through the ball.

 

Second factor: as with fairway woods, flattening the lie and lowering loft (opening the face slightly) will help prevent left misses

 

Third factor: ball position. For most golfers, hybrids fly best if you hit down on them like an iron rather than sweep them like a wood. People who sweep hybrids tend to play the ball too far forward, which means the clubhead has closed down - rather than squared up - by impact.

 

Oddly, this ball position hint came to me from a Chicago area club pro who was also a Titleist rep. At a demo day, he showed me that left misses with a driver could be caused by playing the ball too far forward (the close-down zone).

I hated hybrids for the longest time as I have had the same issues. Went for a driving iron which was great off the tee but couldn’t get it high enough off the deck. Saw a TXG video on the mizuno CLK hybrid with Chris V and they explained from factory it is in the most anti left setting allowing the player to dial it back in increments if it fades to much.
 

Let me tell you, it’s made be a believer in hybrids again. Good flight and shape but doesn’t really go left. Really solid anti left hybrid for those who are wary. Also since it’s a mizuno hybrid and their woods fly under the radar, I was able to find one barely used for a great deal

Well not everyone is a scratch golfer nor will they ever be.  Certain clubs perform differently for different people, and I have tried a few.  It's not about changing your swing to fit a certain club, bc I could do that, but that defeats the purpose.  The idea is to find a club that fits your swing.

Could be he doesn’t have the skill set that your scratch friends have and it might take him awhile, even with lessons, to get there.  My miss is always right, but when you take a decent amount of loft and add a very low center of gravity (like a hybrid or 7 wood), the lefts can be a very real thing.  Even among pga tour quality strikers (plenty of scratch or better players that hit hooks with hybrids).  If they have trouble, it should be no surprise that a 5 hcp like myself could have issues with hybrids going left.  Don’t get me wrong, I play a hybrid (sim max) and like it, but they definitely can go left and that is not necessarily an easy to fix swing flaw.

I can assure you, your club is not the issue. 
 

This is a place where new equipment is more important than sound technique and solid fundamentals, but one day you’ll realize it’s the indian not the arrow, and “changing your swing” isn’t as easy as you claim it to be.

I can assure you, as a 6 hcp I am far from perfect, but some clubs suit my swing and others don't.  I do not play a draw with any of my irons or woods, but have hit uncontrollable draws with the few hybrids I have tried.

This is part of the fitting process, starting with a club that fits your swing.  A club fitter wouldn't put a regular shaft in the hands of a 115 mph swing speed.

Don't be an a** and don't assume I haven't heard the Indian and arrow saying.  You aren't being cute.

I've also got one and it is the squarest sitting, least upright hybrid I've ever seen. I understand why a lot of manufacturers make them upright, but in someone who has a relatively sound swing, it is a bit of recipe for pulls and overdraws.

If hybrids had a left issue, nobody on tour would use them.  I'd suggest lessons and figuring out what you're doing when swinging a hybrid that results in a left shot.

tsi3 was easy to hit fade. I didn't change the cg track but it should give you even more workability.
