Players 4 top size

Looking to grab a players 4 bag, love the style and like that it can be a single strap if need be. The top has an odd taper to it in photos. 
It looks like the upper portion would barely fit three woods. How does everyone set this up with 14 clubs? Would a putter with a 3.0 SS fit into the top with woods?

I know the plus model has a different top but the 4 so slim in the middle and light, it checks a few boxes for me. 
 

I am also eyeing the hoofer lite but Carl’s has the older players 4 for cheap.

I have the newest players 4 stadry and one of my son's has last seasons standard players 4.  The bag fits 3 woods and a putter in the top, although fairly tight.  I have a 17" Flatso 3.0 on a Odyssey #7.  I get some tangle from time to time with the putter grip but not a deal breaker for me.  I like the slim, compact design of the bag since I carry often.  The upside of the relatively small top is that your clubs don't bang around.  That appears to be limiting the bag chatter on my forged irons and wedges. For a fairly small bag, the storage is just right.  Overall, it's an excellent carry bag.  I use the double strap when I carry and the single when I use a caddy or take a cart.  While I'm really happy with the bag, it would be a close call, but I'd probably by another Hoofer for my next bag. I like the Hoofer straps a little better but more importantly, the Titleist is not as durable as the Ping.  Based a year of play, my son's bag will be lucky to make it 2 seasons.  He plays a lot of golf though.

Thank for the info. When you say durability, what do you mean? Are the dividers already shredded? I dont play forged irons so the chatter element isnt a huge issue for me. Do you run 5 4 clubs in the top, four in the bottom and uneven in the middle two? I use a push cart a lot but  that is mostly due to my current cart bag, so the strap comfort will be a factor along with overall weight. I carry minimal items outside of the 14 clubs.

The bag is fading, top collar is frayed and one of the dividers tore loose from the bottom of the bag.  Bare in mind that my son is a teen, competitive golfer, so he putts a lot of mileage on his equipment. One summer for him is probably four for your typical avid weekend golfer.  I have 4 clubs in the top, including putter, 3 irons in each of the 2 middle slots and 4 wedges in the bottom.
