Of course there will be many curious to see how it goes. He’s no doubt an entertaining watch. I’m sure the ratings for that LD event will increase 10 fold. Doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a great idea for his PGA tour game or that he doesn’t say/do more ridiculous s*** than most. 😆

It’s after the Ryder Cup, not before.  And his training will be about the same as it always is.

I'm not criticizing him. He's free to do what he wants. Of course he'll bring eyes to the event that normally wouldn't tune in....which is the reason for it. 

 

But he's going to get worked. Those LDA guys are in an entirely different stratosphere. And they will be pumped to show just how big a gap it is.

I'm conflicted.  I don't hate him, and I love his approach to the game.  But he also annoys me with about 90% of the things that come out of his mouth and the way he acts like it's never his fault when a ball isn't hit perfectly.  But I will 100% watch him in long drive, I think he's go the personality for it, he obviously gets excited to just hulk smash the ball.  And for as long as he hits it he's pretty accurate so he could do well just by keeping the ball in the grid and let some of the other guys snap hook the ball into oblivion.

In fact, just realized that hitting this long drive contest is a great opportunity for him to make it up to Cobra, give them some great air time and talk about how great the driver is.

 

But, either way, when he’s out there playing, he’s cool to watch. When he’s talking….not so much ; )

I remember when players like Fred Couples and Payne Stewart would compete in the finals for the World Long Drive Championship. It was always fun to see them compete against the long drivers.

I mean, he's buddies with Kyle Berkshire and has been hitting a 48 inch driver... I'd bet he gets through a couple of rounds and then gets beat by a top 10 guy... I guess it comes down to where he is seeded in the tournament.

I think he can legit carry 350 with just tour driver, 46”? Didn’t he say he hit 210mph ball speed?

 

So, add 2” and he swings for the fences and he could definitely get like…370+ carry?

 

Whats a big carry distance for these guys? Did any carry 400 yards?! Like without some big tailwind.

 

 

I know Jack once carried it 390 with persimmon and balata but….
