Scotty Cameron Spring 2022 Release - Any Info Yet?

I presume these will be released in spring 2022 in line with his previous released for this line.

 

Any preliminary info on finishes, head shapes, etc? Will it be the same selection as Special Select or will he bring back a few classics like the Laguna 2.5, Newport 1.5, etc...?

No info from me, but the special select face milling seem to be getting some use on Tour so maybe they’ll stick with that for another cycle. 
 

I’d love to see a Newport 1.5 again, but I also a more shallow face milling and I never get what I want.

You'll see the same recycled head shapes, little bit different paint, and a $50 price increase to make sure they stay well ahead of inflation/raw material prices. 

 

If we're lucky maybe a different hosel design on one head shape, but that will likely be a "special edition" for $1500.

Has Scotty been to any cool car shows recently? Only then will he get the inspiration for what nominal changes he wants to make to his putter line which incorporate nothing that the remaining Scotty fanbase actually wants.

The "new" Squareback 2 is a great shape (and love that it has reasonable toe hang unlike the Studio Select version) and if I could get it in black I'd probably add it to the stable. Would be very close to Nelly's current putter as well so then they can do a special edition of that for $1500. 😂

I would like to see him bring back the Coronado design. Just a simple dot on top with adjustable weights. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Wow, odd combination of Scotty fans and extreme cynics. I get it. But personally, I've played Scottys for many years. Except unlike my metals, irons, and wedges, I rarely buy a new putter, so I'm not that tuned into the annual hype of "the new" (that pretty much every club manufacturer does).

 

Actually, I think there are two schools of of putting - the Tiger and the Arnie. Tiger was well known to be continually experimenting with most of his clubs and shafts and grips and etc. But when it came to putters, he'd play the same one for years. He wanted utter consistency. On the other end of the spectrum was Arnie, who was known for, at times, using two or three different putters over the course of a single tournament. 

 

Arnie would be anxiously waiting for the 2022 putters to come out. Tiger wouldn't be.

I think some people hate on scotty because of price or whatever and maybe because circle T models that look cooler and have better stamping etc are not as attainable, but there's no denying that they perform well and that the retail models perform the same as the ones used on tour. I used to be irrational and right off scotty becuase spending a ton on a CT was out of reach, but I look past it and just enjoy my retail models I have and hope to one day be in a good spot to drop a few grand on a CT that will make me happy lol. I don't see how it's any different from a LV purse, or a really nice watch. Did not mean to derail and go off about CT, but I feel like people look down on it for some reason. Hoping to see the return of some black models in 2022.

My boss mentioned to me the other day that Scotty Cameron might not be coming out with any new putters in 2022 because he’s been having a difficult time getting materials. We have one of the largest green grass Titleist accounts in the US so whoever he heard this from is probably pretty involved with Titleist/SC.

Would love to see a shallower face milling like the 2008-10 Studio Select, but it's probably unlikely because it seems like some tour guys like the current milling on the Special Select line.

All I know is when I'm in a golf store putting corral I drain every single putt with a Scotty Cameron. Doesn't happen with any other puttet. lol

I'd love to see the 2012 California series shapes come back with the current face mill.  High toe Del Mar, Sonoma, and Monterey. Mix in some of the circa '62 series as well.  Let the current select model run along as it is for now.  That would be more interesting than rehashing the same models so often.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Can’t get much in the way of the current range in the UK for months now.
