On the 225 it does, but didn’t see anything on the FliHi hosel besides the word.

I've got fresh mp20's with 4 & 5 in MMC and the rest MB's with Modus 125 S shafts. The 4 and 5 hang out right and fade off with the same swing that hits a nice crisp, high draw on the 6-9. Anyone else get that? Slightly more offset but I'm not sure that's the whole reason. Gotta figure it out and maybe a hybrid shafted 225 4 iron is the ticket? I did try a new U505 the other day with an AD DI 95 that was pretty nice but they weren't quite as soft and fluid as Mizunos.

Have you had the lie angles checked on them? I bet they are flatter than your MBs.

So the main difference with the Fli-Hi is the finish and it will take hybrid shafts without sanding? Wish they were releasing sooner, I'd like to (sort of) match my MP-20s but I think the T200 is going to end up winning out for me.

I just can't get behind the script. Looks dated, dirties up an otherwise clean looking product, and sounds so .... pedestrian.

 

MP is just so much more serious and professional - has more punch and exclusivity - a higher level if you will.

 

I always thought the JPX needed the work in nomenclature. MP-xx then the MPX-xx replacing JPX makes more sense to me. Mizuno Pro is such a throwaway.

I am a fan of the script. Harkens back to the old MP-14s and earlier. A throwback if you will. I think they could have replaced the running bird in the middle with the script. That would be super classic. 
 

If I recall the running bird was added only in the mid late 2000s. Never my favorite logo.

I think they look great. I'm curious to see what other changes they've made other than the scripting. I'm really, really thinking about putting a set of the 225's in the bag for next year.

So the 225 is a hollow body, right? I'm not seeing the difference between it and the HMB, or my Mizuno Pro Fli-hi?

What's changed? Is it basically that the Mizuno Pro Fli-hi from the MP20 is now available as a whole set down to the PW?

The 225 is the HMB refresh. It'll probably be 90-99% the same (just like most refreshes like T100 or P790 that recently came out). The biggest change is they need to do something cosmetic, because people won't buy it if it looks exactly they same (enter scripting, a slightly different cavity, a stripe of chrome, etc.). Then engineering will tell you that they moved 3 grams of weight from A to B and the new generation is better. Youtubers will all test it and say it's great (but the numbers will be exactly the same as the last two generations). 🙂 

 

P.S. I don't care - I'm buying the new ones!

I think the 225s are supposed to be a little more compact compared to the MP20 HMB. That should make them blend nicer with the 221s

As for the fli hi I bet it’s made of chromaloy. That is Mizuno’s favorite new metal for current stuff. And to be honest, it does produce some fast ball speeds.

Having seen it now, I like the script but do think it appears a little busy - a little long in the script. Will that make any difference to me? No. Looking forward to them.

I believe it's more than a refresh. The HMB is evolving from a more forgiving long iron that Mizuno presented as an iron set in 2020, to a true Mizuno Iron Set. My guess is the top line is thinner, a little shorter heel to toe but with similar forgiveness as they did with the JPX 2021 lineup. The steel makeup is different, too. I think the copper layer will remain, which is great news. You can see some of this in the pics.

jetmech879, late reply here. No, they're adjusted by a tour level fitter. I have since added lead tape to the inside of the cavity biased towards the heel and they're much better. I think there's too much tungsten in the toe.  Work in progress as the flight's not as steady as the MB's. They went right at standard settings and then I flattened them for my fitting and they still went right. Took the tape to straighten the flight for me. Theres's a video review where they say strikes towards the toe are remarkably forgiving which led me to think that the weighting isn't right for me. I'm a towards the heel striker.

Has anyone tried the Pro Fli-Hi Driving Iron? At 19°, I wonder how it compares to e.g. the Hot Metal Pro #4.
