Oops Redux

I think I just hit the most forgiving wood (laminated) driver last night, the Titleist laminated driver I just picked up. My wife just started walking up the driving range (back pasture) at home as I was finishing up my testing, so I thought I'd put the proverbial "100 yd swing" on it since she was well out of reach. No way I can reach the back fence line, so I thought it was safe.

But... I must have hit it right on the sweet spot and it blew right past her, about 10 yards to my left (her right).😬

She was very understanding when I explained that I was not trying to hit her & I did yell "fore". She waved so I would see her down there. I guess all's well that ends well. Never again...

But man, that driver! And isn't it strange that a very easy swing had that result? Virtually no conscious effort, oomph, or even being set up in the right position exactly and boom. Crushed it. Go figure.

Mrs Foozle would not have been so understanding, she would be convinced I was trying to hit her...she might be right...🤣

I believe it.  I hit one this morning with the TM Original 1 the furthest I've ever hit a ball on that particular hole!  I was searching and searching for my ball when the guy cutting the fairways whistled at me that the ball was 50 yards further down range!  I was just trying to make solid contact as I was teeing off over water.  Who knew? 🤷‍♂️

 

I remember hitting a ball about 6 inches past my wife's ear a number of years ago as I shanked a 5W.  If I hit her she would have been dead! 😱
