RZN? Anyone tryout the new ones

As the subject states I'm wondering if anyone's taken out the new RZN's for a spin. I'm a big fan of the Nike RZN's and still play what I have left. I think the new RZN is the closest thing I'll get to a brand new Nike RZN without the logo. Anyone play them? Like them? Dislike them? Any improvement or are they worse?

Let me know.

There is a post on the new Vice Zero golf ball, which is essentially the same ball with different stamping.

I did play some rounds with MS-Tour. I am not a good golfer. For me, the feel and distance is similar between Pro V1 and MS-Tour. However, Nike did not have such 3 piece ball before (rubber core with 2 thin outer layers), so there is no equivalent model from Nike's time for MS-Tour.

RZN Pro is new ball launched this year, I do not try it yet. From construction, Pro is same or very similar to RZN Tour Black / Platinum. Maybe you can try and compare it with your Nike balls.

I would like to try them, but cannot find them locally.  Don’t want to mail order a bunch of balls to try out…at least not yet.

Nike RZN Red was my last ball…

I but the bullet over the weekend.  Ordered some RZNs on Friday afternoon.  I’ll say, they got here quick.  Shipped out Monday from FL arrived in CA Wed.  A $60 order got me free shipping.

About me: I’m a 3-piece Ionomer ball guy.  I prefer a lower flight, with a bit less spin.  Since the Nike One Black was replaced, I have played 3 piece Nike balls.  With the RZN line I was fit to the RZN Red.  I don’t play Pro V1s out of principle.  Im not paying top dollar for a tour ball. I don’t need that level of performance, and they get them for free.  I shoot mid-high 80s.

I bought 2 doz of the RZN DISTANCE.  It has the typical specs, but unlike other 3 pc balls, this also claims a ‘piercing trajectory’. I also got a box of RZN FORCE which was for sale, but little info available.  It was also a 3 pc ball for $20 a dozen.  If I bought them, the $10 shipping was free…

They showed up, and I cut em open.  For science.  Along with an RZN Red…my take, the Force and the Distance are the same ball.  No noticeable differences.  They have a slightly larger core than the RZN Red, which is clearly different.

Nothing as far as playability.  Haven’t gotten them out yet…

Played them early in the year, but played poorly, so ball evaluation was not top of mind.

Lasting impression, they are fine balls but not great.  Nothing about these balls jumped out, except maybe they are $20 a dozen.  Distance, fine.  Spin and spin control, fine.  Trajectory, a touch lower maybe, which I like. Fine.

I did pick up the Callaway Hex Tour from Costco, which I prefer.  Played those this weekend, and threw an RZN into the mix for giggles.  Par 3, over water, ~150 into the green.  Teed up the RZN, didn’t get great contact, but my impression…the ball felt HEAVY.  Not hard, not soft…heavy.  Like hitting a baseball with a tennis racquet.  Not sure where that comes from, but I seem to remember that from rounds early in the year too.  Not a great feeling.

Gonna stick to the Callaway balls, since I have 4 dozen of them…I wanted to like the RZN balls.  If they were easier to get, I might give them another shot.

Played the RZN MS-Tour yellow for a few early round. So it was cold and damp. Decent ball around the green, not the best, not the worst. But for me, very spinny off the driver. I can spin a drive with the best of them. Interestingly, this ball did convince me to put aside any urethane tour ball snobbery. I’m focusing now on a 2 piece straight distance ball. New Callaway Superfast was better for my game in my latest rounds.

I too am in the ‘anti-urethane’ camp.  For both performance reasons and price…I don’t need it.  I eve shy away from the KSig balls because of the cover…

At some point I may have to reconsider, but not this year.

Yes, plus my home course greens are concrete like, so regardless of ball, I have to land short and let it release.

I tried HS and MS few years ago, I don't remember how they played but I think I quickly lost them because my swing was 💩 at the time. The feel was fine, but I think they had more side spin? Snell is a perfect feeling ball for me, so I never ordered more after that short lived experiment lol.

Ordered some RZN Pro over the weekend to try (not sure why), so I'll post something. I have access to launch monitor so I can get some numbers at least. But was wondering what the difference is between Pro and HS. Both are 4 piece, 3d resin core, micro dimples and urethane cover?

My swing was not great today but here's some numbers for RZN Pro.

My first impression was that it was brighter than their other balls I tried before. Maybe I don't remember well, but one of things that stood out was that MS and HS looked cheap and crappy.

Feel is fine, but it felt little bit heavier. Not sure if it's because of my striking not being at my best.

Looks like for today, it also spun the most for me which is good, don't like a lot of roll.

I'd need to play a round with it, but I think it's a ball I could play on regular basis 🤷‍♂️
