Which ball were you playing when you had your first Hole In One?

I still have my first Bogey ball (Nitro). My first Par ball (Top Flite). My first Birdie ball (Titleist) DT Solo. My first Eagle Ball (Yellow Titleist NXT). 

 

I have yet to get a Hole In One but did you guys that have a HIO keep your ball?

Yes, I kept it.  Titleist ProV 1  5/1/2015

 

Titleist sent me a nice bag medallion I attached to my bag.

 

The Golf Course gave me a pretty cool plaque to hang on my wall which the ball sits in.

 

Still have the ball I made my Albatross with. (3/19/08) Bridgestone e5+. Sits in my desk drawer.

I've had three. No idea where any of the balls are. I remember that I didn't keep playing with them, but I don't remember what I ended up doing with them. They probably got dropped into my bag only to ultimately be relegated to shag bad duty or something. 

 

To each their own and no judgement, but I never really understood the practice of keeping significant balls (1st time to break 80, first eagle, or etc.).

 

For those of you that keep them, what do you do with it? Just put is somewhere only to take it out and stare at it every once in a while?

Been really close a lot of times, but only 1 Hole-in-One Dec 2010 using ProV1X, 165yd using 8i.  The course notified Callaway cause I was playing original 2006 X-Forged irons, so they sent me a nice plaque that hangs in my office.  Didn't keep the ball.

1986, Tommy Armour 986 forged 2-iron, Maxfli HT balata, 225 yds.

 

2006, 1994 Big Bertha 6-iron, Titliest DT wound, 160 yds

 

2014, Mizuno 850 forged 8 iron, Srixon XV, 136 yds

 

Each one got shorter. 😅   Kept none of the balls.

That was a stock pic but it was a Blue Max way back in '78 when I was 14. Thought I would show a pic of the old timey balls. Nice dimple design lol.

2nd and 3rd were some kind of Titleist don't have them

 

BTW - Callaway customer service will send I nice wall plaque if you call them and Titleist sent a very nice engraved bag tag

Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis - the red one. It was that year when they apparently went all over the place according to the  MGS ball test.. so that explains it. It was probably destined for the woods, but the wonkiness brought it back and into the hole 😂

 

I didn't keep it - kinda wish I did for some reason.

My first HIO was so long ago it could have been a feathery! 😄

 

It was back in 1984 and it could have been anything. My most recent HIOs have been with Callaway and Snell balls.

My first one was with a Maxfli Tour Ltd. Ht 100. 9 iron

Second one was with a Spalding Tour Edition ( Won me a Jeep) 8 iron

Third one was with the “new generation” Maxfli Tour Ltd. Balata PW

The last one was made in 1996…..

I mounted the balls on a Hole in one plaque, I have them displayed on the wall next to the scorecards.

Nike one platinum. Had been playing golf about 2 months and was with my dad. Great moment looking back at it. Didn’t even realize how big a deal it was.
