We-Ko-Pa during overseeding

Heading to Scottsdale November 18-21 with the wife. Will only get one round in this trip. Two questions:

 

1. What is your favorite course if you have 1

 

2. We-Ko-Pa Saguaro is closed October 10-27 for overseeing. What would it be like on November 18? That is likely the one we would choose, but concerned about the greens and wetness.

Most courses in the valley are closed for 3 to 4 weeks in October for overseeding, so likely any course you play in that price range will have a similar situation and conditions.  with that said, courses should be good to go by then saying its a nicer course.  Season here really starts Nov 1st for most course and most aim to be prime by week of Thanksgiving.

Courses are also cart path only for 2-3 weeks after re-opening as well. You could look for a course that closes a little earlier and gets a jump on the re-opening. I saw where Sunridge Canyon is closed entirely for August and September with an opening date of October 1st. They had only been open 3-4 days a week most of the summer before that. By your November dates the turf might look pretty mature.

 

Side Note: I've never played there.  I was going to give it a shot in June but was warned about the conditioning issues they had by members of this forum. After working on it all summer it could be decent. 

 

Side Note #2: We-Ko-Pa is a always great choice. 😀
