Bandon - Spiked or Spikeless

For the firm turf at Bandon would you guys recommend spikes or spikeless. Heading there next week. Currently weather looks good, but I know that couldn’t change any second. 
 

I’m in Mass and wear spikeless all the time here with no issue. Just wasn’t sure if the sandy turf gets slick when wet or anything like that.

Either works fine, whatever is most comfortable for you to walk in. I’ve used both and never had an issue I’d attribute to the spikes or lack of. It’s more the dozens of miles walking.

I generally consider spikeless more comfortable. Only time I wear spikes is my Bandon specific Adidas rain shoes. Never had a issue with slippage even when there is 1” of rain or more

Personally, I don't find much of a traction difference between the two, but with such firm ground I think you'll find spiked shoes far less comfortable for all the walking.

With the hard turf

If it’s not raining, lots of times we just wear running shoes

I suggest light shoes and good, sweat wicking socks.

Spikeless, comfy shoes are best, and I like to change socks between rounds if I'm playing 36 in one day.

Spikeless.  Or anything soft and comfortable (enough room in the toe box for all the ups and downs), due to the hard turf.  I used to play Ecco's, but now think the Adidas Codechaos are the most comfortable shoe ever.

Another vote for spikeless.  Only my Adidas monsoon boots have spikes.  I've never had slippage problems with the vast array of spikeless shoes I've worn there, even when it's raining.  As has been said above, cushioning is far more important.

I've been twice and wore spikeless True Linkswear both times.  No issues.  Bring two pairs!

I'm up to six pairs of True's and always have a tough decision to make on which ones to bring on a trip. Can't beat em.

I'll go against the grain and say spiked.  I find the firmness and somewhat thin fescue grass to be slippery at times.  Especially if it's very dry.  I've only been there in March and April, so not sure if it's different by season.  I get the same feeling on dormant bermuda where I'll slide every now and then.
