Is PXG going out of business?

I think I understand what you are saying, but let me ask the question.  You are saying that the big four are making refaced clubs each year and selling them?  Hence the P770's to 790's.  Because I know that PXG is not "refacing" their irons.  Just wanted to clarify.

You can only come up with a design and keep calling it new. They tweak a little here and tweak a little there. When I say reface, I don’t mean literally. PXG has to change its designs because their product is looking dated meaning gen 3 looks like gen 1

Man if you think the Gen1 SGI looks like the Gen3 XP.......well lets just say get those eyes checked.  You could say the Gen3 XP looks like the Gen4 XP, with the exception of weight placements.  That is evident.  But understood what you are saying.

What’s ingenious about it is he lowered the asking price by a greater pct than the competition.

You just described the entire golf club industry....

Exactly my point. In the beginning PXG was something only those who could can get 💰💰, now PXG coming back down to earth realizing they need to offer clubs that attract consumers from every pocketbook. Makes you think though, are the clubs offered for $4 grand made the same way as the ones being offered at half the price. Because as their commercial says nobody makes golf clubs like they do.

They're opening a 2nd location in Chicagoland in the western suburbs. Again, not a sign of a struggling business.

Doubt PXG is going out of business, but their Gen4 Driver just dropped to $299...again....mighty low and means they want to get rid of inventory for the Gen5's possibly.

Will be interesting to see what changes they have for the woods...no interest in irons.

If they wear right in the middle like a bright quarter showing then anyone that sees that will realize .....

You a Player!

If worn on the toe then not so good...lol

Well, I found a set of Darkness Gen 4 P's on their Ebay site.

5-G with the MMT shafts in "excellent" condition.

I reached out and showed them that I was a veteran and they discounted the clubs even further!

They arrived and look brand new.  I can't say enough good things about this company and their products.

I'll keep the sharpie ready to make my wear spots look perfect!

what are the delivery times in the US like? in EU I've just been told it will be 6 weeks before delivery

Gen 4 clubs are made and shipped within 3 days.

Gen 3 and older take about 7-10 days to ship.

I ordered a set of Gen 3 irons over the summer and had them in under three weeks.

Was looking at the site again last night and debating on picking up a set.  Really god prices now, but I don't need another set of irons...  Then again, since this seems to be consistent in dropping price, I know that I won't be missing out and can just get something next year when he blows stuff out again...

The prices have gone back up a bit but are still good. I already have too many clubs but as you say , it was just too good a deal to pass up and i've always wanted to try PXG's anyway

I got an 8pc set of 0211 STs and 0311 wedges for 1200$ CAD Tax in. I mean.....That's insane. It's less than the cost of just my Forged TECs i got last year which themselves are one of the more inexpensive sets out there.

My biggest problem now is i need more golf bags

Pxg started as a premium product at a premium price. It didn't work for very long. Now a new gen club that is supposes yo be even better and you slash prices. Sounds like a company in trouble. The ads are amateurish and should tell you they sell hype not performance. Never saw any testing to prove any of the hype. If you build a premium product with premium materials you can't cut costs.

if the owner is a billioniare  you can do whatever you  want!

Well Im sure they are very nice as some people just like something different as there is nothing wrong with that. No one will ever convince me that paying a full price for PXG that are twice as much are not any better than a new set of Mizuno irons.  Parson knows people will pay that price cause they can't wait and they have the money. It's their money and they can do whatever they want and Parson is a billionaire and he can do whatever he wants.

I never have been a fan of all the screws as I'm wondering do they offer a kit where you can interchange the weight or it is just more cosmetic and now with the Gen 5's the tungsten screws holds a plate in place. Can the plates for the heal and toe be bought at different weights. I know they do serve a purpose according to their company but people like to experiment so why can we be allowed.  I can see more people dumping money into a company as all these little changes they come up with and how they hype it all up as being so much better makes me wonder are they hurting theirselves and making PXG owners more upset especially when they went out and spent full price 6 months ago and now a new Gen comes out.

TaylorMade tried this with their Titanium P790's as that was a big price jump where are they now, Callaway with the Epic Star line, Titleist did this with their Concept irons as PXG is running wild while they still can. I know I would and I'm sure most of us will just wait till the price drops and the next Gen model comes out, or look for a good used set as they are out there. It's no different than buying an Apple or Android phone. They both are excellent choices but you don't see them charging much more for one over the other.

I do like how you can change the weights on their driver fairway wood and hybrids but that will be left for another topic later on, but my comment is directed toward their irons and all the little cosmetic change with their screws and not allowing for owners to interchange these weights on their own. Maybe it's because they would start falling out as I can see people blaming PXG for that. One last note I suppose if I really wanted a 2nd set of irons I could see myself owning the 0311's Gen 4 XF's

The gen 5 iron weight plates on the heel and toe are not separate pieces, sounds like they are indeed Tungsten forged into the head, but have a channel milled around them to make it look that way. As for the individual screws, I believe they offer titanium and Tungsten versions for different weights, you'd have to contact them directly for more info

Heel and toe areas are only tungsten screws....not the milled/colored area.
