This is what happens when Brad and Chad show up and start pounding white claws at 0900 and then switch to the hard stuff after lunch.

And absolutely this is partly due to the Waste Management effect

Well golf ratings are booming in 2021! The Players Championship, PGA Championship, and US Open had there highest tv ratings in over 3 years.  This maybe be an unpopular opinion but I think golf and the pga tour should embrace this. I personally though it was hilarious when Brooks put out that video the week of the Memorial about giving beer away to fans. Bryson needs to toughen up

The last thing the Tour wants to have is golf version of "malice of the palace". Player charging into the crowd.

haha mostly because their players would be stomped into the ground like someone replacing a divot.

ron arrest is 6’7” 260. stephen jackson is 6’8” 220.

the guys on tour are all built like a ziploc bag full of yogurt.

i’d be shocked if Harris English could jump over the ropes.

Wow we have really become thin skinned.  Somebody should ask Bryson if he would rather make $100,000 doing whatever or having to hear Brooksie chants after every shot for the $7,400,000 he earned on course this year.  I’d bet my house he isn’t choosing option 1.

I cant help but laugh at the PGA Tour on this one. On one hand, if you are being derogatory to a player or yelling during a swing, out immediately and lifetime ban from events. All for that. But how much money does the PGA Tour collect selling $12 Beers to Brad and Chad (and let's be honest its the country club, vineyard vines wearing, dads a lawyer type and not the "rednecks and their freedoms") there causing the vast majority of this. They let these people start drinking at 8am and then wonder why they are blasted at by 1pm and screaming after every shot. It might be an unpopular take, but golf comes off as an old white guy sport, and then tries to act like its inclusive. Its not. Its never been, but now with the pandemic its brought alot of people into the game. Quit acting like get off my lawn guy and embrace it. Anyone who says they liked the days of no fans versus seeing and hearing the fans going wild when they go hole after hole in a playoff is exactly "get off my lawn guy". Let the game grow into something other than the white country club guy image that its always had.

Look at the masters.

Crowd is old, young, and all in between. Fired up, loud, amazing golf on display with no buffoons acting up.

$5 beers ; )

And the guys at other events drunk and screaming ARE the exact same guys as the *old country club guys. They just not old yet 🤣

So what would be next, then?  Letting people yell in the middle of players' backswings?  You have to draw the line somewhere.  It is a "gentleman's game," after all.

I agree if it is done in the middle of a backswing that’s a problem.  Maybe I’m not watching (listening) closely enough, but I haven’t seen it happening in his backswing.  Usually he hits a shot and then the Brooksie comes, or as he walks to next shot.

If you don’t want fans yelling stupid stuff, get rid of the fans, but watch how fast prize money drops.  Think players would vote for pre Tiger levels.

Having attended numerous Tour events in the past 30+ years I have two things to offer.

One; this kind of juvenile behavior didn't exist until roughly ten years ago. Looking at you Scottsdale TPC 16th hole.It just grew exponentially from there with the assistance from network TV and radio.

Two; There's not enough security/police at a typical PGA Tour event and the patrons know it. I'm in no way advocating "Big Brother" (read Animal Farm or 1984 by George Orwell) but there has to be a correction in the market going forward. If you are intoxicated in public at a PGA event, it should be no different than walking the streets of any city in the USA.

You're not going to change folks who feel they are entitled to act like an a** whether at a college function or a sporting event until they wear handcuffs and face the music. It's not going to happen until the PGA and event sponsors press the issue and quite frankly, I don't see it happening in the near future.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Drunkazz clowns going to do drunkazz clown things like yell stupid stuff at players, if it happens between holes, so be it.

Do it during a golf swing, now we have a problem..... drunkazz  clown has interfered with business. You don't get to go into my place of business and yell stupid stuff at employees, the vendors or independent contractors.

The course is a tour players office, respect it and the players.

If a player disrespects a fan, volunteer, etc. out of turn, fine him and ban him from a few tournaments.

Augusta policy needs to be the norm not the Wasted Mtg.

The PGA Tour makes nothing off that beer or anything else at a tournament, unless it is on a TPC property. All of the local revenue for a tournament stays locally.

It's a pretty sad state of affair that it's come down to this.  I think we're getting dangerously close to having a Ron Artest-like debacle at an event.  I hope they follow through on their warning and make examples of people who just can't control themselves.  We need civility and decorum on the courses.

I asserted the same thing on r/golf months ago.  My comment got 100 downvotes.   People actually believe because of the SoMed incentive program Monahan introduced that the PGA Tour is hoping violence will become part of the events.  The public or at least the internet has become just that cynical.....

I can't disagree with this.  Bryson brings a lot of this on himself, though Koepka (also a DB) helped it grow a bit.  Some of these guys are just outright intolerable while many others go about it professionally on a daily basis and don't have these issues.  I think if they didn't make spectacles out of themselves, and draw attention to themselves, none of this would be an issue but immature, drunk, bored, attention seeker buy all in.  Its as if BK and BAD would be those very people getting ousted if they weren't inside the ropes.

probably close to a drunken shoving match in the gallery, but a golfer hopping the ropes and going a few rounds with a drunk fan?

no sir. not gonna happen. i mean, you’ve seen tour golfers, right?  my sister could kick Justin Thomas’s a**.

we’re talking about a movement gaining traction because the “biggest” guy on tour can’t handle some some PG rated heckling.

if that’s not some charmin soft nonsense i don’t know what is.

Until this last weekend I never realized how mentally weak Bryson was. Athletes from other sports have got to laughing. Dude lost his s*** because someone said to him, and I quote, "Great job, Brooksie."

Bryson needs to look out for his mental well being and quit the tour.
