What’s your swing speed, handicap and what ball are you playing?

I’m interested what balls others are choosing in relation to their swing speed and handicap.  I’m curious if the choices people are making are different than what marketing and many non-gear head golfers suggest are best.
Im a 5 hcp (just hit 4.8) and swing the driver at around 100 mph (102 last time measured).  I’m currently playing the pro v1x.  I was playing the tp5.  I loved the feel of the lower compression balls like the tp5 and the pro v1 (I’m 43 which is just old enough that I associate soft with  better from the days of stealing my dads balata balls).  The performance of the higher compression balls just wins in pretty much every way for my game though.  I’m finally getting used to the feel and liking it and trusting it around the greens.

What are you guys going with?

3.6. I'm usually right at 105 with the driver. Mostly played a Pro V or 1x but recently tried the AVX and absolutely love it. Definitely lower flight and loonnnngggg! I find they spin and hold greens just as well as the Pro V. And they are durable. I just played 18 and a 9 with the same ball. No scuffs just not as white when they were new.

~111, between scratch and 1, TP5X pix. I struggle with too much spin, and the 5x performs well. I like the pix pattern also for putting and just knowing which ball is mine.

I am 50 years old, since you mentioned age, I figured I would mention mine.

43YO. 105+ driver. 0.7 index

play the Chrome Soft X Triple Track

Obviously could play any tour ball and used to bounce around until I decided to just stick with one ball. CSX checks all the boxes for me though. It’s long, firm but not too hard/clicky, spins.

I liked the Bridgestone BXS ball a lot. Prefer the feel of ProV1 over the X but prefer the spin and flight of the X (although it’s negligible). Don’t like the AVX ball at all. Too low spin. Also like the TP5x balls.

I've been bouncing between 7.1 and 8.2 most of the season.  I'm a month shy of 58 years old.  I'm not sure of my swingspeed any longer, it's been several years since I've had it checked and my distance has dropped quite a bit since.  I'll hazard a guess at 103-105?

I play the Wilson Staff Duo Professional.  I'm definitely old enough to remember wound balls, and heavily played the solid core wound balls that Maxfli produced in the 90s and 2000s.  I also found a stash of Japan produced, recently-at-the-time manufactured, HT-100s and worked my way through several dozen.  That feel is heavily imprinted on me, which is a big part of my playing the Duo Pro.

Nice aspect of the Duo Pro, it's the best ball in side winds that I've played since the original HX balls.  Nothing else comes close.  And, it's got a significantly lower peak height, to the point that I've needed more driver loft to use it effectively.

3.3 right now, 43 years old, driver is in the 104-107 mph range... been playing the Snell MTB black and more recently the AVX, but the Snell seems to fly higher and carry a little longer.  Snells are such GREAT balls.

do u think the AVX is as long or even longer than a PV1 or PV1X? seems like all the testing shows that especially the PV1X is longer. wondering because i dont really see the difference, and i certainly prefer AVX feel much more. But I heard AVX is an 80 compression ball whereas PV1X is 110 ... that stat has me thinking PV1X has to be longer

60yo injury riddled 10 index. 90-92 mph SS w/driver.

Current ball I pay for is either TM Tour Response or Bstone B RX, but I will play CS, ProV1 or AVX on occasion.

Like the AVX best of the second choices.
