I think the behind the scenes stuff would be interesting. But it won't make me want to watch folks play golf, I might play more though.

I wish I could play F1, but good  driving sims cost more than good clubs. 🤣

Should be pretty good. The big thing will be access to big events. I doubt the Masters goes in.

But maybe the Opens and the Players. Gotta get some TW in there. He should hopefully at least tee it up someplace next year.

Also, I wonder if there’s a “final cut” authority the Tour has. I imagine any player can demand any private moments/comments made off the course be edited out. But if something goes down at an event or a player says something not complimentary about the tour, be interesting to see if that stays in.

I don't think events will really matter.  It's what goes on at the events that will.  A Mickelson whacking his moving ball is what would make this similar to DtS.  Or getting into the Dahmen/Kang disagreement from a few years ago.

Pretty sure the locker room will be off limits(for good reason, IMHO), so it's more about which players let the cameras see them away from the course.  The less the tour is involved the better, but when has that ever happened?

For me the work, pressure,  lead up, and action for big events is what makes it worthwhile to watch.

Totally different feel to majors and big events than the John Deere.

Otherwise, the “here’s Rickies crib” stuff and stories of “my road to the tour” get pretty played out fast ; )

This is what I see this playing out as - a more extended version of the show TGC already has on about "life on the tour".

The "good stuff" that I see on DTS, the behind the scenes stuff, the team strategy etc - I just dont see any way the Tour would allow that kind of access and IMO almost no players would either. Maybe I'm wrong though.

The "locker room stuff" - the bickering behind the scenes, the inter-team bs - thats part of what makes DTS so great IMO.

I was about to post something snarky about your new avatar when I saw the Auburn helmet. Then I realized it was Bo Jackson. Even Georgia fans love Bo.

I think the unique think about tour players is they are each individually their own corporation. Everything they do should be to highlight themselves as more marketable/worth the investment from a company while squashing the "bad" parts about themselves. Going on a documentary like this and being "real" most likely wont garner more endorsement dollars, its very high risk for the potential reward, so whats the point/value for most of them. Additionally, the tour knows this. They don't have a tour without name brand players, that's why they try and produce the image.

On the other hand, Netflix has done a good job with sports docs such as Last Chance U, to there's hope.

Another point, as noted above, there have been attempts at doing stuff like this before. They did one for John Daly and Natalie Gulbis back in the day on the golf channel, though it was overproduced.

I mean, I'll watch anyway. Who knows, some guys might surprise me with who is interesting.

Yep, I'll stick by my initial thoughts that this will be an over produced, G-rated look at everything we already know.

Oooh wait, DJ is trying out a new putter during a practice round? Oooohhh. Wait...we had someone talk about that 6 months ago here when it actually happened in real time.

I'll wait until the reviews come out. Truth is - that list had a few names I didn't even know were on tour - and I gotta be honest that is pretty hard to do.

With the Tour involved I see it as nothing more than the reality stuff on Big Ten Network with in season looks at BB or football teams - Leave It To Beaver plain vanilla.

Wait, that might already be a show on those channels I see on my guide but don’t watch, lol. My wife hates it when I read random titles aloud as I’m scrolling towards Encore Westerns.

Just out of curiosity (not criticism I promise) which names didn't you recognize? Aside from maybe Pereira (KF graduate) and Nakajima (current #1 world ranked amateur) I'd consider pretty much everyone on that list a fairly well-known player.

I assume the angle on those two players will be the challenges/obstacles with making it onto the tour.

This will work only if they keep Jimmy Roberts and Rich Lerner away from the project. Those two will suck the life out of any upbeat programing with their sappy, lets make everybody cry and feel terrible the rest of the day delivery.......but that's just me.

If those two clowns are in, I'm out on watching.

... am I the uber nerd for knowing them all right off the bat?

I like how McIlroy isn't participating. After the PGA Tour "Performance Review" video I bet he got some cold feet 🤣

You are completely and utterly wrong with this post.  I can't believe you would make such a statement.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
