Soft or firm grips on your wedges.

Hi folks 

 

Well as the title states, I want to see what everyone has on there wedges. Is it the same as your set or different.

 

Do you like a firm feeling grip for pitches and chips or do you like soft.

 

I've tried everything I find the multi compound plus 4 a little too soft, was playing the lamkin REL 3 gen. But struggle to get them. 

 

My new wedges have Lamkin crossline cord. I am liking the firmer feel and feedback they give me. But feel they can be harsh on my hands as I practice alot with my wedges.

 

Have Lamkin UTX on woods.

personally I like to use the same grips on all my irons. wedges included

 

best tip I ever got...KEEP the SAME grip pressure thru every chip or pitch...never tighten or lighten up your grip as you swing and your chips and pitches will be far more consistent

Same grip, irons and wedges. Will generally play stock grip on new wedge(s) for first season. Then, grips will be matched up in winter regrip.

 

Overall, I like medium feel grip on my clubs.

Yeh I think I might change all my grips to the sonar tour next season. I tried one a little while ago and really liked it.

Same grip on every club I've owned over the last 30 years (obviously excluding putters).  In fact, in the extremely rare instances my clubs aren't a custom order and they come with a grip that isn't my usual grip, I'll regrip it before it ever even sees the course or range.

I have Winn DriTac OS on everything except the putter, and when that needs replacing I'll go with a DriTac on it as well.

This season I came to really like taking the taper out of my wedge grips. It helps consistency while choking down. I play matching grips from driver to lob wedge.
