Mavrik is a bastardized way to spell Maverick however it’s pronounced the same. Stealth spelled Steahtl isn’t pronounced Stealth now is it? Maybe it’ll STLH will be pronounced steel like Red is suggesting.

Ok. Someone is way overthinking this.  Ha

I assumed it was all fun and games while we wait.

This is coming from a guy who plays with TM employees every Saturday.

'STHL' is the only clue

Do with this information what you will.

Cheers

Stick That Hits Long 😊

All I heard from folks who heard from someone that talked to that guy is that TM is definitely moving on from the SIM line.  Regardless of what it is I’ll be most interested in how they market the thing. 😉

I'm sure a carbon face will do wonders for taylormade's durability reputation.

Not sure what you mean by “durability reputation”.  I’ve been playing TM clubs for over 30 years and there’s never been an issue.

Just wait until the 1st pic leak and the 15 page barrage of "please send me the pic at [email protected]"

Please don't spread my email around like that.

I will say that someone that has received info on it said the club is a big deal, a big change, and all he would say is "face."

so 🤷🏻‍♂️

In tm's defense, their warranty dept is solid.  That said, their drivers are notoriously fragile.

Out of all the drivers out there. Be it here, reddit or some other golf social media.

TM seems to be the one that shows up the most with a crack head or something.

I once said the same until I had an m3 and the bottom plate cracked. Had the club 6 months and Taylormade didn’t want to pay out, saying I’d broken it on purpose - it broke during a match on a tee shot and it was the best driver I’d had.

Luckily my pro stood by me and got me an m5 head. I’ve had that two years now and the sole has a crack where it covers the weight track. I know two other people that have had similar issues with the m3 and m5. Never had any issues before my m3 with any Taylormade driver but they’ve had a few issues last few years.

Lets not talk about the durability of their putters…..

I cracked my m1 a few years ago after about 3-4 years of use so I bought an m5. After one year the face cracked on the m5 and they sent me new sim. After about 8 months the carbon fiber cracked on top of the sim and they sent me a new sim 2. These drivers are definitely fragile but as long as they keep breaking within a year I’m going to be happy and get a new driver every year.

I’ll give that to them but it also needs to be great considering…I’ve cracked 7 different driver faces over the years. Along with face cracks, the latest Sim2, the carbon fiber cracked on the sole and before that the only driver they never replaced for me was an M5 Tour and the carbon fiber on the top of the head cracked and started to flake off. TM said the crack needed to happen on the sole or face and they would’ve replaced it

A club with a red face just doesn't seem visually appealing to me. If this is true I guess they really just want everyone to see/notice it on the TV broadcasts.

I hope it looks better than what I'm imagining.

95% of tee shots are shown from a down the line view...

True but you still catch the face in the follow through and other angles. I just don't know why you would do a red face otherwise. Maybe I'm in the minority on that.

I am guessing it is mainly a way to draw attention to the face when there is racks of drivers in the shop.  Shelf appeal.  Highlight their new face tech.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
