Anyone Have An Idea of What TM’s Driver Plans Are for 2022?

Except CT is still a measurement of energy return so wouldn’t more ball speed from a center strike mean the club is above the allowable CT limit?

No its not. Cor is a measurement of energy return. Ct is the amount if time the two objects stay in contact with each other.

Same difference; they time the collision before they separate. Both tests yield a number that translates to energy return.

Not necessarily. Its an attempt to measure trampoline effect. But like explained earlier in this post, what if a new face material passes the time allowed but “springs” or trampolines” at a faster velocity? (Would equal more ball speed) There have been drivers in recent times rumored to have exceeded the COR limits but pass the ct test.

Here are the details on how the testing is actually done:

Have to be pedantic here; they're not the same difference. The COR test directly measured the rebound velocity of the ball when it comes off the face and compares that to the initial velocity. It's a direct measure of energy transfer of a club head at all points on the face.

The Characteristic Time pendulum test is a good analog for the COR test around the center of the face, but it starts to diverge when you test other areas of the face. Plus it's using a steel ball in the testing apparatus, so it's never going to be a perfect 1:1 to the original COR test with an actual golf ball. 239 +/- 18 microseconds is an approximation of 0.830 COR, but they are most definitely not the same thing and do not have a 1:1 mapping between the values.

But the CT test is portable and fast, something the COR test is not. That's why it's used.

People can post pics but their absence means TM is getting better at keeping cellphones out of the room when the product is being shown.

They will not have a job anymore... Or if its a random person who received the pictures from someone in the industry, the random person will be threatened with a lawsuit and if its traced back to the person in the industry, that person also will not have a job anymore

This is BS. Things leak all of the time. I’ll post them if someone gets them to me. Not afraid of a lawsuit. You will never identify me. Someone call my bluff.

All this talk of the colored face is worrying me just from an optics standpoint (I'm sure it won't be as noticeable at address, etc., like those that have seen it in the flesh have reported), but the tech does sound very intriguing. I hope they have kept one attribute I've found about the SIM line though--great for more towards the toe misses. Despite wanting and trying to love my TSi3 (because it fits my eye), I've recently switched to a SIM2 because it just seems much better for my typical miss!

99.5% of golfers have no idea  new driver is coming. OEMs want those people to buy up the inventory through the holiday season as gifts, for the annual trip south, with their bonus money, etc. Which is why the embargo lifts 1/4. Delay the hype until after the holiday season depletes inventory and aligns with what we all consider the true PGA season....not this fall carry over crap they do now.

So, I just wanted to put some of the speed gains in possible context. I haven’t hit it so not sure what I’ll see when I do. But for a little bit of anecdotal evidence, my buddy and I played a simulator round yesterday on a uneekor system. He had a ping g425 lst that he hits pretty well. I have an OG Sim. He was hovering around 160 ball speed with his driver. Handed him mine and he immediately picked up 5mph ball speed.

I owned a 425lst and switched to the sim because I found the ping to be a lot shorter.  So, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that someone see some significant gains depending on what they’re using now.
