Monte’s new Broom Force

Well, the scenery is much better in this one. And secondly, it really ties together some of the loose ends from NTC. Very simple and well done.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Per above comment.....I had identical question after watching the videos. The way I answered it for myself is that the clubhead is positioned along the arc of the path if that makes sense. Maybe Monte will clarify.

Lots of good drills; not sure which to utilize initially. I could easily throw too much in the mix.

Another perfect example how doing almost the exact opposite of what you think gets you to the right spot. I get steep and can sometimes hit it a little fat....well do the 2 Justins drill and feel like that club is buried 5 feet behind the ball. Voila.

2 Justin’s? Rose and Thomas?

How about the guy in the background giving himself a pretty generous putt (presumably for par), wanders off green past the bushes, then later comes strolling back?!  Was he lost?

I had a round today so I played with these feels a bit during my warmup. I can definitely understand this idea and sometimes I can implement it, and it does seem to add some speed as judged by the height and carry I was seeing on iron shots.

Many of the things Monte mentions in the content match up with stuff I’ve digested from AMG and elsewhere. I think if you’re getting info online it’s important to make sure it is all coming from the same general school of thought. This fits right in for me.

Dont remember which clip but there’s a point where monte seeps the ball out of screen and a second later you hear someone say “fore!” In the background haha

Question as always is how do you apply to driver?? Can you do the drills with driver too?

Driver for me is always twice the effort. If I need to set the wrist early? Feel like I set them even earlier with driver. Shorten the backswing? Literally feel like your swing length is cut in half. If I'm doing Two Justins or Slapshot, literally double the effort of the body and club movement and with slapshot, the foot really has to make an effort to go back. It'll feel like you're moving a mountain and when you look on camera, it'll look like you barely did it.

I know Monte doesn't necessarily promote doing drills and improving swing mechanics with driver. Normally I spend less than 5% of my practice balls on driver, usually interspersed with the movement I'm working on and I'll be focusing on the above.

Because I couldn't make it to the range, and my sim is not built yet, it was a perfect night to get some BROOMFORCE work done with the short broom.

I don’t have a broom like in the preview video but only like in the latest video here o Precision - hopefully it works as well 🙂

It's a bit harder to get the broom to the ground if you're just doing the sweep with the shorter broom (I had a long broom sitting around as well). You really have to unload the vertical hinge and extend the right arm. I found it more beneficial the combine the sweep and 2 Justins like in the vid I posted.

Anyone else fatting a ton of long irons?

Mostly pulls for me on longer clubs. My low point is a bit all over the place as I'm working, so I can understand the fats. I make sure to pressure left at the end of the backswing, transition is unload the vertical hinge behind me, and from there the only thought I have is UP with the hands and arms (left hand especially for me) going into impact.

I bought the video and it blew my mind -- completely changed my intents and concept of the golf swing.  I now understand what "speeding up the arms" means.  I now understand "ground forces" I now understand real rotation.  I now understand "sequencing".  Just changing the intent produced some wonderful strikes and distance I never had before.  Now to really employ the drills to engrain these feels.  Monte, I finally get it!  Thank you, you finally put it all together for me!!!

For me it's training the brain that for the hands to work up through impact, they have to be down first, and it forces you to keep that right wrist in extension.

Agreed. Also the broom has shown me that I don't have to toss the club out at the ball. If I just go up and rotate, the club works it's way out automatically.

Yeah the broom image is really sort of perfect in how it helps you FEEL these things intuitively.

For me the drills help me finally feel max speed at or after impact. A byproduct of that is a reduction of the hit impulse from the top of the swing.

Seems to me that the drills and intents in this new video series relate to the notion of Cast B in the NTC series. At least, that's how I interpret it. I had difficulty getting my head wrapped around the Cast B concept in that earlier video. The drills in this new series, however, are very relatable.

I think it's a simpler and maybe more effective way to have players feel both the "casts" from NTC. The first one brings the "broom" down to the ground and the second one "sweeps" toward the target.

Yeah I'm also getting some pulls too, especially with wedges
