I went with Nippon 950gh, but i already pulled them out after two rounds lol. i still love the shafts, but my body hates me right now, so anything i can do to not aggravate some pre-existing medical issues, the better. So i am switching out to graphite soon.

With the 950gh, the T300 launch high, in a good way for me.

i feel ya my left shoulder, right elbow an back after a round of golf i feel like i have been in a car crash getting old sucks

for me these irons don't exactly match up, i think the x5 is closer to the T200 and the x7 is closer to the t100. At least thats what they look like to my eye.

If u are considering playing the ZX4, another icon to consider is the t400s, I recently bought a set for giggles and im enjoying them.  Im not a serious player and just like hitting balls and going out for a round of golf with plenty of beers and sunshine.  I hit the ball decently and my go to irons are a set of PXG Gen3 0311ST.  A lot of players may be concerned about the super wide sole but it doesn't seem to affect me much in terms of quality of ball strike.  Better players with higher swing speeds may not be able to use this but Im older and definitely am not getting any longer.  If we play from the whites, ill use my blades all day but my younger friends insist on the tips.  My handicap allows me to play from the tips but its way too much work and then im exhausted and my next day will be trash.

I am looking at purchasing a set of T300s now as well as a set of t200s.  I tried the ZX4 and the Mizuno Pro 225 in a simulator and those just didnt fly as well.  I especially like the 38* PW in the T400 set.....call it cheater loft, call it a 8i, call it ugly, call it whatever.  I enjoy hitting the "PW" 155-160 with a easy swing.

The only ZX4 I have is the 4 iron. The feel off the face is amazing. It is super easy to hit. On par 3s where I need 200-205 carry, it is a real weapon. if I went GI irons, I’d be eager to try a full set of them. ZX5 Is forgiving but the ZX4 is another level when it comes to preserving ball speed across the face.

So I went to Streamsong last month, and airline didn't get my golf bag to me the first day, I rented the T300 Red AMT stiff.  Played 36 with them before getting my clubs back.  Out of 7 rounds I played, shot my best and third best rounds with them.  I have never felt as comfortable with my current irons of three years as I did with the T300.  I think I am going to pull the trigger on them, however, I think I want to go graphite shaft for elbow and wrist concerns...

I play the OG T300 and l agree to what this guy says about the T300 2019 and the 2021 model. I am a weekend hacker that plays bogey golf and sometimes i feel my 8i, 9i, pw and gw are a bit small and that it is almost like a combo set. So if someone like the latest T300 but want slim shorter irons look at the OG. My golfing buddy plays ZX5 and they are much shorter in bladelenght compared to my T300 so l would go to ZX4 if l moved to Srixon.

Pulled the trigger on T300 4-GW AMT Red R.  Arrived today, loving what I'm seeing.  Had the ZX5's which I liked but wouldn't say loved.. I have a feeling I just play better with cast cavity backs over forged for whatever reason, my best iron play was with a set of TM SLDR's.  Used to play to a 10 but now a 13 mostly due to lack of play so was looking for as much forgiveness as I could stand to look at.  First round Friday, let's see what happens.  The T300's just look so playable to my eye, looking forward to it.

So how did it go? Any thoughts between the ZX5 vs the T300? Thank you and stay safe

It’s always interesting to me that people will shop Titleist and Mizuno for SGI clubs. It’s not that they make bad ones, but it seems like their real focus is on players’ models and forged blades.

Once you’re going SGI, it seems like Ping, TM and Callaway should feature in the conversation. It’s what they do best.

I’m a longtime Srixon iron fan. Their niche seems to be clubs that are far more forgiving than their profile would suggest.

I’m playing the latest T300s with a 50° T100.  Played every Srixon and they were softer but less forgiving for me.  I also believe they spin more.  I’m about a 9 hcp and not a great ball striker.  Put simply, my misses have never been better with the T300.  Very pleased with their performance off a bad lie, too.

That’s an old take on Titleist. And no doubt it was true until the 716 AP line came along about 6 years ago.   Since then they have evolved the GI line up to the current 2021 T300, to where it easily  sits next to any other companies GI.

Mizuno hasn’t come as far as Titleist in the GI category.  But it’s JPX 921 Hot Metal is a very good club.  Not quite to the forgiveness and playability of the T300.  But can be handled by most 15 to 20 handicaps.

Was at the course today just to hit balls, do some drills. I was striping my ZX4 4 iron so well that I told myself I should just get a full set of these and call it a day. Yes, this club is not your usual WRX beloved prototype — it has a little bigger profile, but it simply does not play that way. It swings no different for me than the ZX5 except the ZX4 is crazy forgiving and I think it feels better too. Second club I own with an HT1170 face and a 431 stainless body and I really love the feel of it. At impact the ball off the face is a treat. Remember the Srixon 355? Was actually a pretty good club and this update, the ZX4, blows it away. I hope Srixon keeps it in the lineup. If they make it a little sleeker all the better. But I don’t mind the bigger rear end, seeing a but of the back at address just reminds me I’ve got plenty of help, so swing smooth.

I don’t know how it matches up to the T300, have not hit that one. It looks great. I see the ZX4 more as a club that matches up well with the Cobra Forged Tec X or Maltby KE4 MAX or JPX 921 HMP. I’d also say it reminds me of the Mizuno HP M5 from a few years back.

I owned and sold a set of Mizuno 225s and IMO the ZX4 feels better. If it is one you are wondering about, don’t get caught up on specs or looking at sole width. Go hit it.  I am no fan of big soles but this club doesn’t hit the ground that way. The back half of that sole cambers so quickly I don’t even feel it as a factor in turf interaction, it just creates the low/deep CG. Crush long irons with ease and it gets your attention. Plus, let’s be honest, Srixon does not make a bad club and that is really why I tried it — faith in the brand. If I could devise a 4-7 combo with 8-P ZX7, that’s how I would go. Could be too difficult loft-wise. To me, there could be clubs as good as the ZX4 at preserving ball speed across the face, but none better.

I am going to double down on my post and say that the T300 are up at the top of my list as best irons for moderate to high swing speed players who aren't great ball strikers.  My misses continue to be flying on target and with minimal distance loss.

Late to the party but this thread just fits me to a tee. 16 handicap golf ho playing out of Denver. I've played Z565, G410, G425, 718 AP1, Gen 2 PXG XF in the last couple of years. Currently gaming ZX5's that I built with NS Pro 950GH in r-flex. Also have a new set (unwrapped) Apex 21's and used set of Gen 3 0311XP's if anyone is interested..

The ZX5's are beautiful and easy to hit for me. No probs with the v sole or lack of forgiveness. Distance is consistent and mishits aren't off by much. I've been playing some really solid golf this past season. The only complaints I have is dispersion but I don't know if it's caused by my swing or the shafts.

I recently picked up a full set of Aerotech Steelfiber i95 in stiff flex and am just itching to build a set over the winter. Sure enough, I've been eyeing the newer T300's and there's a full set of heads available online... Must resist but likely will have an update in the spring on the subject.

Thinking the T300's will be a little more forgiving, stiff shaft might help with the dispersion, can build with some beautiful BB&F ferrules and look the part of a better golfer than I am, lol.

Either way, I won't be parting with the ZX5's like I did with the Z565's last time. Srixon's are just amazing irons imo.

Wow, almost 5 months later and the T300 irons made me a better striker of the ball so much that I moved to a softer forged Gen 3 0311P and the handicap is down to 4-5!

Bumping an old thread but still valid as these two models are some of the best GI irons in the market. I'm currently gaming ZX4/ZX5 combo (4-PW) set built with Steelfiber i95's in stiff flex. Also built some Callaway MD5 wedges (48, 54) in this set and it hasn't disappointed. Already have new components and will be building 2021 model T300's 5-53 with UST Recoil 95 F4's in the coming weeks. Plan is to game the T300's this season and revert back to the Srixon's if they don't work as well. Will have a full review around mid-summer.

Quick question for the T300 players- How do you like the T300 48 or 53 wedges? Good design, bounce and spin? Or do you think you'd have better performance elsewhere?

I want to build a full matching set but I'm afraid the 48 and 53 might not perform to my liking. I like Callaway / MD5's and are considering TM MG3's for their ease of use, good spin. Would really hate to build the set and find out I should've gone with different type/brand wedges.

Thanks-
