I have used the Hzrdus Yellow a lot and i like it. It's a smooth feeling low launch shaft. It plays very true to flex, not boardy or anything but still somewhat of a manly man shaft. Other than the counter balance it's similar to the Black

Reminds me a bit of the Whiteboard/D+...low launch but with feel, and stable

My experience finding a shaft for Epic Max LS below with SS around 105. This was just my results, but take it as you will.

I did a fitting at Club Champion for a driver, and got fit into a Ventus Black shaft, both the Epic Max LS and TSi3 were giving me about the same results, getting out to about 280. I've attached a summary of what kind of results I was seeing. I ended up not pulling the trigger for a couple reasons:

- I didn't think I swing fast enough for a Ventus Black but he insisted it was correct

- The fitter was not super open to trying stuff he didn't pick out for some odd reason

- The total cost was almost 1k for a driver

So I went to a fitting van at PGA superstore. I had heard they jack their simulator distances so I hit some 8 irons that were flying about 145 which is my 8 iron number so I felt it was reasonable. But note these numbers are foresight and the CC data was trackman. Anyway, at PGA I was once again getting a bunch of results at about 280 but then tried the Max LS with MMT 70 X Flex shaft (this is one of their stock non-upcharge options), and I saw my average go up to 289 and it just clicked and felt great. Some of those numbers also attached.

I did end up pulling the trigger on the Epic Max LS with the non-upcharge MMT 70 X flex shaft. For me it was eye opening that the stock Epic Max LS shaft could give me such good results and that I almost poured an extra several hundred dollars into something like Ventus just because it's "aftermarket" which does not mean it's better. So again, for me at least, the stock shafts were pretty much optimal and I think Callaway did a good job matching the Max LS with stock shaft offerings.

I am playing a Max LS with the MMT shaft. I have tried A LOT of shafts over the last few years. Aside from the super exotic like auto flex, you name it and I’ve probably tried it. The best results I’ve had prior to this current combo was a Ventus Black. FOR MY SWING the MMT gives me the best results between dispersion and distance. I loved it so much I ended up plugging one in my 4 wood and 7 wood and haven’t looked back.

It will never happen, but I would love if the physical retailers reversed the purchasing decision by stocking their racks full of shafts with a generic driver head, and then provided an option to order an aftermarket head, lol.  Given the conforming equipment rules, it seems like most driver heads perform pretty much the same across the board and the only real difference is sound/feel.  I know that is a gross oversimplification, but the shaft should really be the most important part of the purchase.

I'm taking your Golf WRX card away for not going for the aftermarket Ventus like the rest of us, lol.  In all seriousness, the MMT wood shaft is a good one that's highly underrated.  I'm surprised that it gave you good results though.  It's far different from the Ventus Black.  Smoother feel, high launch and spin.  It has to be tipped just right IMO or can get loose IMO.
