Custom Cleveland hybrid build

Hey guys  I’m looking for a builder for a friend.  He got fitted into a Cleveland Launcher XL with a Mitsubishi C6 shaft.  It’s not a combo you can get straight from Cleveland so looking for recommendations for a builder.  He’s in the Los Angeles area but obv he could order and have it shipped.

No one gets randomly fitted into a Mitsu C6. That is straight up fitter b/s to try and insure they order the club direct from them and not go through the club OEM.

I agree, it's hard to believe that one of the seventeen available shaft options wouldn't suit him.

Unfortunately it's not hard to believe at all when it comes to certain fitters!

Well of course the fitter is pushing what he sells. The workaround is to get the specs on the recommended shaft and find one of the OEM shaft options that's close to it. Besides, it's not like the C6 hybrid shaft is all that special.

I agree with Adam here, but what weight and flex label was suggested for him?
What shafts did he get to try of the options Cleveland offer?

Mitsu do NOT show off a EI profile of the C6 Hybrid they call BLACK, but since its MID launch and a IRON shaft, its "most likely" close to the C6 ONYX wood. and if thats the case, there will be other Custom options available from Cleveland who should be compatible.

He was fitted to a C6 black 70 R.

 

I don’t disagree that it was an attempt at an upsell.  Since he’s a high handicapper I told him to ask to only use no up charge shafts, which he did.  But obv they still tried to fit him into some other stuff.  Regardless he really like that combo, it was his favorite out of everything he hit. So while the preference it to take his business elsewhere, he’d still like that combo.

If he paid for the time he was with the fitter, no problem seeking options. But I am a bit confused (which is easy), fitter recommended try the hybrid with the C6 black and client liked it the best. Fitter can order it but at an upcharge (not client's preference going into fitting and now looking for a builder. Isn't the builder price likely going to be the same as what the fitter would order if it is all the same parts?
