Yep - wind is fun.  We have plenty where I live, lots from time to time, don't really know what to do if there isn't any. 

 

Used to laugh listening to some of the golfers in Palm Springs when visiting my dad and playing - if there was going to be 10 or even up to 15 mph of wind some would debate whether they even wanted to play, lol.

They generally have a pretty educated guess of who’s going out when for the first round. The talking heads on the golf channel have been speculating for three days. Most of them got the US picks and order exactly right. Euro they were pretty close

Watching the azinger special.   Two takeaways…… 1.  So bummed I never got to watch Anthony Kim play. What a beast of a character.    2. Azinger is/was wayyy smarter than he gets credit for.  Not for “ pods “.  For the caring approach he took , and the time he took to give individual attention to each player and figure out what made them tick.    The story of him goating Kim into turning it up , because he figured out that Kim needed a chip , or a little bit of a “challenge”  application of the needle to play at his top.  That  just wouldn’t happen with any captain.   I enjoyed watching that a lot.  Sad I hadn’t came to the game then and didn’t see it live.

Yep, posted in the other thread something similar - I've always thought Zinger got way more credit than he deserved, turns out he was as smart as he used to say he was, lol.  Seriously, it's a fascinating story and I'm getting his book!

Agree. We should make Azinger the permanent captain. No other captain has come close to his coaching approach. All time, Lombardi like motivator.

Judging by the fashion at the opening ceremonies,Europe is already one up. Extremely slick, tight suits, sharp all around.

Yea. I thought the same.  When I saw them I kind of gasped.  I mean no mirrors in Wisconsin?  I halfway expected the jackets to have elbow patches and they be wearing a pair of these Wallabe boots.

I know I’m a little late to this. Live in AZ, got home about an hour ago and am watching the opening ceremony on replay. Was Stricker drunk or something?!? 
 

He said he only had a couple beers, but what the hell was he doing telling his fellow Wisconsinites that he is a frickin Bears fan?!? You gotta be kidding me. I like Strick, but come on. The Euros show up yesterday in green and gold, wearing and then throwing cheese heads into the stands, and he says that. Good grief.

Considering the US were not wearing suits it is clear you are not a haberdasher.

 

I thought their sports jacket, trouser combo was okay for casual Friday at the office but looked out of place for the event.

I give the BPOE credit for dressing better in public.

 

the RL outfits bring to mind sporting club attire.

that style is seen in his previous catalogs. herringbone tweed, blue soft collar shirts, club tie. 

some long guns and the course's bird dog would have complimented the look.

Yes, he seems very fixed in his thoughts. The problem is if the morning foursomes don't go to the US, then he's screwed, because three of those are just about his strongest pairings,  and he's banking on them to play most of the matches together.

 

Bringing in Harris English or Scottie Scheffler is unlikely to strike fear into the Europeans.

 

I predict his first fourball pairing will be BDC and Scheffler.
