Right what I meant was it was his play today that forced Paddy's hand to sit him in the morning foursomes.  I have every reason to believe prior to the start of play that Paddy had him penciled in for Saturday morning session.

they seriously are

Dye courses are not special, just tricked out one shot ponies

Kiawah Island The Ocean Course is terrible?  Maybe you have different standards of what is a great golf course but The Ocean Course is awesome.

Which is just sad

Doesn’t mean Dye courses are any good

They’re gonna have the US Open at chambers again

We all know that’s a shlt track

greens have gotten better, tons better and it’s by far more enjoyable

Chambers Bay isn't a Pete Dye course.

Sheesh dude, time to eat a few more sour lemons or something. Why are you even commenting here if it sucks that bad for you? I think the VAST majority disagree. Thankfully your opinion is in the minority of we'd be playing resort courses from the ladies tees.

Check the DJ day 1 RC recap below from espn.com. Can anyone or everyone spot the most obvious error in the snippet of the article posted below? These are the types of idiotic errors that happen when you have a college football writer covering a high level golf event. Even the god awful "reporter" from ESPN Michael Collins wouldn't have screwed up this bad.

Pretty close...Clarke was a disaster, I can only hope Harrrington will be close to his level of suckage.

If all the captains that win away from home

Olazabal is the only captain to win away from home in the last 7 Ryder Cups, so maybe all the away captains don't suck, it's just way harder to win away from home?

Don´t know about playing those courses, but as for TV watching experience its like Pebble beach without those holes 1-3 and 11-16. Entertainment on each hole, just not a few photogenique ones.  As great as I remember from the year when Day won the PGA Championship.

US lead is no big surprise, Rahm is the only euro that has performed on world class level this year. Sadly, don´t see that changing in many years to come.

I agree. It's the biggest threat to the future of the Ryder Cup. Home advantage or, more specifically, home conditions are huge.

Maybe the course setup should be taken away from the captain? Or even given to the opposing team?

Being a huge supporter for my home continent and having celeb, rated out many victories in the 2000-s I don't think the venue and the fans matter all that much. The difference has never been larger in performance before a RC. Rahm is the only one performing on top notch level. Don't know if its Covid, Computer games or stuff that moderators will not allow. Sure, the Höjgård twins will win more than a few points for Europe in upcoming matches, but one do not see young talents emerging as they do from the US. The US team is young, great and I cannot see them losing in Italy.

Euros absorbed what the US soft parade threw at them and had Euros putted today the softies would have been hitting the sleeping pills tonight.    Oh Aye-- Oh Aye Oh Aye-- Oh Aye-- Oh Aye Oh Aye.   Bryson, gotta love it, bombs away on a faux links design and bops an innocent woman enjoying the day.

Salty. I like it

I was wondering about that myself because I could have sworn the format had changed. However, the only thing that changed was what they called the matches. I was arguing with a couple guys at the club and they were right, I was wrong. Many years ago they called it "best ball" though. I know that for sure

It all bothers me much less than having to explain the difference between a scramble and best ball to casual golfers.

Don't get too carried away with the greatness of this US team Hank. Sure they are going to win this at a canter, but it will be 30 years since the US won an away match by the time we get to Italy and they've only been close once in recent times (2010).

Watching BdC today modified, to some extent, my distaste for him.  Engaging and fully involved, different vibe entirely.

That's because he's a circus and his traveling sideshow fits this event perfectly. I love him in this format, not so much normally. Maybe we can just put him in storage and only being him out for the PC/RC?

I was thinking just that actually. Maybe they should let the away captain choose the course set-up, in order to eliminate the gap. The team already has home crowd advantage, playing in their own region, so letting them set up the course to suit their players too is just adding another advantage to a whole list of them.

It's essential the Ryder Cup is close to maintain interest and there hasn't been a really close one now since 2012.
