Harrington has nothing to work with except for Rahm and Sergio.  Easy to blame the captain, but the players hit the shots.  Berger is the only liability for the U.S.

He probably hit it towards the heel to keep it in play.  That's the go-to shot for a lot of pros if they want to guarantee that their drive will hit the fairway.  They lose some yards, but it's a nice tight fade.  A PGA Tour player told me that a few years ago in a pro-am.  Swore me to secrecy, thought, so don't tell him I told you.  🙂

It's a 500 yard par-4 playing into a 20 mph wind with cool temperatures.  Need to hit enough club to carry to the fairway and not leave your partner 300 yards in.

That's what I thought, too, but not every pro carries a 2-iron and he told me that he can flight his driver lower than his 3-wood when he hits it towards the heel.  And Jordan was hitting into a 15-20 mph wind, so he likely wanted to keep it low.

You could bring back Tiger in his prime and pair him with Brooksie and Rahm and Sergio would still beat them.

Well I predicted with friends it would be a US win but disappointed with how big a gap there is between the teams. Didn’t feel happy when Westwood and Poulter were picked as neither has played well recently.
 

Just hope the US fans behave themselves for the last day and a half and don’t spoil some good play by the US team who would be deserved winners.

Agreed.  Not having Phil or Tiger on the team has saved us at least 4 points so far.

He did - but he made a huge selection errors on day 1 and completely killed any chance of getting the team going.   Nothing to work with now of course except trying to rescue this from being an utter humiliation.
