Is WS playing as an actual links or is a lakeside course with no trees?

Watching some live coverage and I'm seeing quite a breeze out there.

Maybe not the birdiefest everyone is expecting?

As long as the wind doesnt come out of the east (off the lake), it will be a birdie-fest.  And it's not forecast to come out of the east for the weekend up here.

If the wind comes out of the north/northwest, there are a couple of holes on the back 9 that could be set up as driveable with the tees moved up.  Looks like that is likely on Saturday.

They've really opened up a lot of options on this course to take advantage of the US length.  It looks like its going to be set up for aggressive play.  In the 4-ball matches especailly, you're gonna need birdies to win holes.

What I find interesting is that JT will be in Ralf Lauren gear again. Would love to hear the comments from the upper esch at Polo…

By the way, Let’s Go Europe!

I'm sure they are happy to have their stuff ho'd by JT and actually having their cake and eating it, too.

Would rather hear the comments from Justin about having to wear the stuff!

He's certainly skinny enough to fit into it.  The designers seem to like the prepubescent boy look, cause that has to be your body type to fit into their clothes.

Does anyone else think the Europeans do a better job with their course setups then USA? Both aesthetically and strategically? Medinah and Hazeltine were set up like tour venues and weren't that visually enticing. Le National was so much cooler as a viewer, Hazeltine was fun but it felt like I was watching the John Deere. I attended Hazeltine in 2016 and found it underwhelming. It felt like I was watching a Wednesday Pro-Am.  (top photo is Le National, bottom is Hazeltine).

Does anyone actually think the US is gonna win? This looks to me like a dramatically bad line that is inflated by owgr's and actively ignoring injuries and chemistry. All the US has going for it is home field.

The lineups are fairly balanced and then suddenly there's Jon Rahm, who is basically the Earth's space jam golfer right now.

At worst I think it should be even stevens. Anybody else?

Isn’t that the Euro criticism of Hazeltine? It was set up for a birdie fest which worked to the USA’s advantage.

Le National is the best Ryder Cup venue imho. We will see Marco Simone… 🤞

The Golf Channel analysis/programming is incredibly boring...there's only so much speculation and stats anyone can talk about without eyes glazing over.

I am boycotting all of it until the actual event.

Sky basically had the GC feed on last night and my wife asked me why I was watching as the attention I was paying to it was fairly minimal. She had a point. Stricker and Harrington sat in front of an advertising board saying the same thing they have been saying for months was hardly ground breaking stuff.

That's because there is no Kuchar, so no ping pong matches.

Ryder Cup, The Musical.

Get your tickets now!

Ryan Fellansian from the Cleveland Press:

The unclassifiable supernatural omnibus classic includes a neurotically unforgettable performance by both Europe and the USA.

Benton Raycroft from Utica Times:

If you care about real theater and you’ve never seen Ryder Cup, The Musical you don’t really know yet what it is you care about.

Raymond "Stew" Pennington from the Philadelphia Reporters:

Golf, marital infidelity, egomaniacal actors, and inept totalitarian commentators all conspire to produce a glorious and absurd competition for TV viewers abroad.

I’m working on my grocery list!

Me too !  No lie. Haven’t watched a second of the golf Chanel talking heads

we have a cold front coming in , ( cool front ).  I’m thinking about a bison stew , and cornbread for Friday  night and Saturday  lunch.

Then balsamic - fig chicken breast and smashed potatoes for Saturday night.

Then Sunday morning early  I’ll put a Boston butt in the smoker for Sunday afternoon pickins.   Probably do bbq chicken wings with that and some baked sweet potatoes ( my guys love sweet potatoes this time of year. Just came out of the ground ). I just love a meal I can put in the smoker or on the cool side of the grille and walk away from.  And I love to cook big for big events.   Makes the rest of the house get behind me watching it. Lol.

Yum!  We are also getting cooler and looking at some 60s/40s days/nights over the course of the Ryder Cup.

Friday looks to be about brunch and nibbling - may make chili Thursday night and have a cup or two in the afternoon. (Watching my girlish figure, but bacon rolled pheasant bites on the grill go well with chili, haha).

Nothing like having to settle in for all day to inspire using the smoker.  Will be making barbecue sauce and putting some ribs on the pit barrel cooker Saturday.  Ryder Cup and Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, good day!

Sunday is up in the air - probably more about the breakfast and singles!  Likely a sausage, egg, cheese, cilantro casserole - "egg bake" to some, like to make it tall and fluffy! Make it Saturday night, put it in the oven for an hour on Sunday morning and . . . mmmmmm.  Leftovers provide me breakfast for the next week and chili for lunch until it runs out.

I'm actually salivating, lol.

That’s right. You have a football team this year to watch !!!!  I wish I knew how that felt. Lol.  The gamecocks are welll. Turrible .  At least Clemson isn’t doing well !  😂….I might just have to be a Iowa fan this year.   Anybody but Ohio state and Clemson.  🤮 yuck.
