had a nice time watching today and seeing so many US play well this week.

Brilliant performance by the US 👏👏👏. Congrats to them.

I like a lot of their players but watching the press conference with a couple of beers inside them shows what the players are really like. Most of the US team seem sound, fun, respectful. Spieth is just class as a person & pasty face Cantlay is a *****. Sitting right in front of Stricker & rolling his eyes when Stricker is talking like he was boring everyone was out of order. 

Something doesn't sit right with JT either - Spieth bailed him out at one point while he was getting gobby with a journalist.

Spieth bailed him out when a question was asked of JT about Tiger saying something about not only beat them, but step on their neck. Seems like JT was trying to avoid that subject by going back and forth with the reporter and Spieth saw an opportunity to deflect it away from that.

FWIW it’s worth wasn’t the chunk chip in 2010? He won the WGC Bridgestone Invitational the month prior to the Ryder Cup. Then won twice in 2012, including the WGC Accenture Match Play over Rory McIlroy, then won the Barclays in 2014. People tend to forget those things when discussing Hunter, not saying it didn’t stick with him but he won three more times and lost in a playoff to Bill Haas in 2011 at Eastlake.

Nope. Phil is getting Bethpage Black in 2025. They are using current vice captains as future captains. DL3 has had his captaincies. Furyk is done as a captain. Freddie isn’t getting one. Phil has 2025. That leaves Zach.

Is Zack Johnson a leader, though?  Sure he's won a couple of majors, but he barely cracked the Top 10 rankings that many times in his career.  I just don't envision a lot of excitement for him being captain.

 

They should give it to Azinger again, so he can prove (or not) that he can win in Europe.  Winning in the U.S. is a lot easier.
