2014 Taylormade Tour Preferred MC irons

Well, long story of looking, posting and debating between WRX review, Golfspy and YouTube I decided on some Taylor Made Tour Preferred MC irons. I was holding out for some CB and then these came up from a reputable seller I had purchased from before.

Great find!  I personally think the 2014 MBs are the prettiest blades made in the last 10 years.

I remember when these came out... Once I hit them in the store, I HAD to have them.  Such a great looking and feeling iron... Unfortunately, I have never gotten my hands on a set....  Enjoy them!!!

I’m interested in what you find once you play these a bit. I picked up a set off the BST around a month ago. They are longer than my t100s, with more loft. A few of my friends and I are trying to decide if it is a shaft choice or the actual heads that make them feel so good. I couldn’t be happier with them.

I will be sure to post. I went from i25 all the way back to 2006 blades (that I love and will always keep) so I’m not used to distance anymore. It will be a different experience as the blades are shorter than the pings were.

Yessir…those are beauties!!

 

I gamed a combo set of ‘14 Tour Preferred MC (3-7) and MB’s (8-PW) last season and they’re awesome for sure!! 
 

I just didn’t know my specs at that time, so I was playing with shafts that were too light, and too short…but the feel and control of those clubs are just as good as most clubs that are out now for sure.

Thats good to hear.  They are pegged for arrival Saturday (Hopefully) and I'm planning on playing with them sunday.  I will take them to my guy for loft/lie check, but am just planning on playing them at the stock length and flex.  They come with the KBS Tour which is 120 so they should be good.  I am just hoping that I have the game to play them lol

They have a higher MOI than anything TM has in their current lineup.  I think you'll be OK 🙂

I was in a period when I wasn't playing much golf when these came out, and I've honestly never seen them before. They look sweet!

When I was playing them last year, I was coming back to Golf after over 10 yrs of not playing and was totally fine with them. I was just playing XP 95 shafts when I should’ve had 120g shafts.

It’s interesting seeing all the praise here. I remember when these came out everyone talked about how awful the transition was from forged to cast between the 7 and 8 iron. I’ve always loved mine from the feel to the look at address and I go back and forth between these and a set of mp68s. Love them both and can’t get rid of either.

Thanks for the comment man.  I sincerely appreciate it.  It was either these or the CB version.  I got these and one of my good friends won an ebay auction for a mint set of the CB's so I will get to try them too, but I think I will be happy with the MC's
