Of the 221s, 223s and 225s. Only the 223s are available in LH.

A little off topic, but I was trying to think of the 13 players that hit number #1 and used (or previously used (or used in the future?)) Mizuno irons. I can think of the obvious Tiger, Faldo, Duval, Koepka, Donald. I know Seve used True blades, perhaps Kaymer's gamed Mizuno too, but the rest? I think I can rule out Westwood, Ernie, Nicky Price, Woosie, Couples, Thomas, Vijay and Norman. But I can't remember seeing Langer, Lehman, McIlroy, Scott, Spieth, Day Johnson, Rose or Rahm gaming them.

I believe Jason Day gamed Mizuno irons at some point in the last few years.

So disappointing. The 225s look phenomenal and watching Ian hit them over on TXGs YouTube channel today was amazing. Wish they would offer us lefties more.

I want three full sets of all three irons types, but man o man my T100's are a good fit for me. 

 

Fli Hi will have to scratch the Mizuno itch for now.

The 225's look amazing but the lack of Modus 105 X as a fitting option has always steered me away from Mizuno and now £200 per club - Ouch!

i tested briefly the entire lineup today and was amazed across the board 5 stars.

225 and 235 most notably for me were standouts, better in everyway than previous line and for better players probably the best new launch ive seen in a long time.

But those 223s are HAWT. 100% chance I will try them.

I’m much more interested in 225’s after all the positive reviews. I expected it to be all in on the 223 but both are on the short list.

223s have the exact same lofts, bounce, and swingweight as the MP-20 HMBs. So, I might be seriously considering switching to the 223 multi-material blade...

Spent an hour hitting the 221 and 223 with the stock shafts today in S Flex.

223 will check a lot of boxes for the guys who want a players cavity iron and who have lost some speed or distance in their game. I would have to change balls or weaken them by 2* in the long and mid irons to make them playable but then that also might bring the beveled trailing edge closer to the ground which somewhat defeats the purpose.

It’s a toss up for me between the 221 and T100 at this point, but the 221 checked off all your traditional Mizzy boxes in terms of everything but the 223 actually felt softer but with more transition of energy if that makes sense.

anyone who’s in the 0-15 cap range who struggles with higher spin due to swing flaws will 100% be a shoe in for the 223/225.

I went with the full 225 set, but I am still considering 223 (8-9-P) and 225 (5-6-7). 

 

7 iron is where the 223 line moves into chromoly and the insert, so that's a good break point to just move into the 225.

 

The loft differences between the blade (221) and 225 would make that a difficult blend. Not impossible, but it would take some bending and it's a big jump in size. But aesthetically those two blend nicely.

Probably the first time I’ve been tempted by a 3-way combo. They all look so good. Off the top I’d say 225 4-5 iron, 223 6-9 and a 221 PW. Probably should just skip the 221 but that wedge looks so perfect, I want to hit it. Super looking lineup!

If you want to elevate to legendary golfwrx status, buy a full set of all 3 models. Mix and match (or not) until you find your perfect setup and then put the other two sets on the BST. 

 

I mean, that's the only way to know for sure that you got the combo set right, right?

I created and ordered the following

 

3 & 4 fli hi

5 & 6 225

7-PW 221.

 

I bend the 6 one degree weak and the 7-pw 1 degree strong.

The fli hi 3 and 4 have the Rdx black 6.5s I may change those though. The rest DG AMT X100s.

This entire lineup looks incredible.  However I would def have to do what others are doing and have a combo set.

One could make a case for having 2x 7i in a combo set:

 

221 7i loft is 34*

225 7i loft is 30*  

225 6i loft is 27* -> a large loft gap to blend with a 34* 221 7i

I know combo is the cool thing to do but it's not always necessary to combo. The sets have a progressive design to them and Mizuno has pushed that even further with the short irons getting even smaller than the previous generations.

 

I need to test first but I'm probably going 5i to GW in the 225's. 4 hcp.

I have thought about this exact thing. My concussion is I will bend one strong and one weak and it should close the gap enough.
