Wedges - More Similar than they are different? Vokey - PXG - Callaway

Have been messing around with wedges recently and attached are few pictures of some sand wedges.  Have the same wedges in LW and very similar looks to all in the lob wedge as well.

Vokey SM8 54.12 (D grind), PXG 0311 Forged 56.10, PXG 0211 SW (was bent to 53* so bounce is at 10*) and Callaway MD5 Jaws 54.10S.  Grinds are all similar except the Vokey D grind, but what I have to compare.

I was struck by how similar they all look at address.  Face and overall look at address suits my eye with any of them.

I'm leaning towards the Callaway Jaws at this point as they have Mitsbishi MMT 95 shafts in them as I am hoping to make a permanent move to graphite after messing around with MMT 80's in a previous set of 0211's.  The MMT 95 are just a bit heavier and just a bit tighter than the 80's both of which I prefer.  Stock shafts in the Vokey and 0311 Forged.  0211 has a Nippon NS Pro 1050GH with ProSoft inserts which has been my primary set this season but tennis and golf have messed up my right elbow, so I will be playing graphite next year one way or the other.

I have a Callaway Jaws Full Toe 58 en route, so that will go into the mix as well.

Just thought it was interesting how close wedges have become and similar to putters, it's hard to change what works from brand to brand.

You’ve got a good point, very similar at address. Just comes down to feel really. I’ve been partial to vokeys my whole life, but have played others. Cleveland has some nice wedges as well, only hit on range never in play.

What's in the bag:

Driver: Taylormade M1 8.5 w/ HZRDUS Yellow 6.5

Fairway Wood: Sim Max 3w w/ HZRDUS Smoke Yellow 6.5

Irons: Taylormade P7MC 4-P w/ DG X100

Wedges: Vokey SM9 set (50/54/58) w/ DG S400

Putter: Scotty Mil Spec

I have not had an opportunity to hit a variety of wedges. I've only hit ones I've bought and I've only bought 2 so far (Nike SV's and Lazrus).

I have a pair of Maltby wedges on backorder and a Cleveland on the way. I reshafted my 52 Lazrus last night with a graphite that matches my irons. The Maltby's will have this same shaft.

When my lottery numbers hit I will go down to Texas for a wedge fitting and be done with it   🤣

The grinds will make a difference. Especially if hitting finesse shots around the green.

While I'm not playing any you've listed here I realize my stock of what I'm currently bagging will be exhausted sooner than later and have tested several brands including what you've included here. I'm an admitted 588 kinda guy and have always gravitated towards their offerings. Having said that, in my recent testing I preferred the JAWS 5 to the rest of them and maybe it's because it's a Roger Cleveland design like the 588.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

I too have had a couple of graphites installed in a 54 & 58 (Callaway / OnOff) which I quite like, I then found a couple of Hopkins CJ-1 at 54 & 60 (one KBS the othe DG spinner) which are unusual to find here in UK

But I seem to go back to my trusted Eidolons 52 and 56, they are a bit worn but they work these have KBS steel shafts

Quiet fancy some of the Hogan Equaliser they look nice
