What if they stopped playing the Ryder Cup?

What if?  I hate hypotheticals that come with no rational basis why it would happen.  Why would you even ask that?  Is there a scenario you could see this happening?  Tired of seeing the U.S. squad get housed every two years?  Me too but that's not a reason to stop playing it.

So that's a "No?"

I’d rather they get rid of the Olympics. And take the Presidents Cup too.

I'm assuming you mean golf at the Olympics and not the Olympics itself?

Would the PGA of America be able operate without the Ryder Cup? The Ryder Cup is said to be a $125 million event.

The PGA Of America would still make a ton of money if the Ryder Cup ceased to exist. The PGA Championship generates about $100 million in revenue annually. Additionally CBS/ESPN pay The PGA Of America a boatload to broadcast the PGA Championship every year (the networks probably the PGA of America close to $60-$70 million annually to broadcast the PGA Championship). That right there is a $170 million off the PGA Championship. This doesn't include any of the amatuer/junior tours the PGA Of America runs all over the country. Point being, the PGA of America would be fine. They have a variety of "products" that make them money.

She wanted an orange one! But none available at the time.

I found one abandoned at the golf course, of all places, last year. Just sitting next to the 9th hole tee box watching people golf.  Looked to be just a couple of years old, but malnourished.  Took him home.  I mean how often do you get to own a cat that likes to watch golf?  When I brought him home, my wife joked that he was Arnie reincarnated, so that's what we named him.  He's a great cat.

From my experience, the Europeans would greatly miss it.  They love the Ryder Cup.  Virtually every European player on Tour that I've worked with has talked about one of their goals is to play on the Ryder Cup.

And I can't tell you how many times I've seen a group of European amateurs make a golf trip to either Myrtle Beach or Pinehurst or Florida and looking for some Americans to play a 'Ryder Cup' style of event.

I'm sure they would be fine.  It just sounds so funny that any organization would be fine with giving up the suggested take of $125 million every other year.  Even Vegas wouldn't be happy losing that kind of money.

Then their name would be Pete, and they would be awesome! 🐈‍⬛ Follows me around the house and comes when I call him (ok fine, not every time).  😹  He’s a rescue and seems very grateful that I rescued him.

Trust me all animals know what they have been rescued from. Takes them a little while to get used to what has changed but then they are grateful. Both of our dogs were rescues. You have to sometimes be patient but with enough love and attention they will come around

Yep have played some of those on a whim Ryder Cup matches--- At my home course now we did have before the pandemic two couples from London England who vacationed here every winter. We did a Ryder Cup thing with the a couple of years ago along with some Snowbird Canadians. Had a blast, One of the Englanders did go to Kroger and buy some Guiness beer. I do not normally drink anymore but this time I did have a beer with them. One of the guys said the Guiness was not as good over here as in the UK----- I will leave that to the experts first time I had ever had Guiness

I know the OP isn’t asking this but I am trying to think of the reasons why they would just stop 🤔 Pretty sure that it would be Patrick Reed’s fault and if not him, then Bryson. Those guys man 😂
