I was watching the Sanford Invitational (used to live in SD) and saw the commercial.  In a nutshell I can buy PXG to beat my buddy.  Another option is to strap myself to the side of a pig and roll in mud.

Unfortunately I knew exactly what is was about due to the commercial. It’s definitely horrible, but you remember it! And that’s the point. That said my mind thinks it’s for those pants made out of the same material as fire hoses, not golf clubs! 😜

He owns the ad agency that makes the commercials so I don’t think he’s getting anyone to analyze and tell him what to do. His unqualified daughter runs the agency as well - and very badly from a source who worked there. Nepotism at its finest.

They are bad commercials. Annoyingly bad. But they are effective. The fact that you think it sucks is also not a scientific claim. It’s good marketing.

Of course not, but they take it to the next extreme level.  I’m not even opposed to playing their clubs if I found they worked better than something else, but to me they are average clubs, with over the top marketing.  It’s an image thing.

When the Gen4 drivers were on sale for $299, I went to their website, built one to my spec, and put it into my cart at least 4 different times.  I am 100% not exaggerating that the sole reason I could never pull the trigger was because of their commercials, most specifically the hog one.  I would literally feel embarrassed to have that club in my bag.  I'm sure their ads have sold more than they have turned people off like me, but whatever, I just can't do it.

I’m the same way, I cannot stand the commercials or the whole dooshy vibe of the brand and BP but I couldn’t resist the 0211 st blades. They look the least “pxg” of any of their clubs and were only 119 per club which is cheaper than pretty much anyone. Played them over the weekend and gotta say they are some of the best irons I’ve ever played. Awesome feel, solid, compact, small thin soles and top line.  Seriously good. Kind of the poor man half price Blueprint which is so weird considering traditionally, PING is the brand of the people and PXG was marketed the complete opposite in the beginning….
 

but I refuse to buy Vice golf balls and complete the profile!!
