Has anyone made changes to the weights? I have been rolling my 34" and it feels a little light. I purchased some 20 and 25g weights to try. Curious to see thoughts on the weighting of the putter both before and after modifications.

I swapped out the 20s in my 33" to 10s.  To me it felt much heavier than my 5.5, but I had also been using my Spider X with lighted weights for a while (more stable than 5.5 to me).  Feels much better to me now, but been traveling around and not spent much time on the course lately.  Will be giving it a go this weekend.

Interesting that it actually felt heavier... My 34" feels really light in the head. I swapped the 15's for 20's so I hope to see a little bit of a difference. Wanted to make the change gradually until I feel the right weight. Haven't tried it out on the course yet, but hope to practice with it soon. Thanks for the feedback.

Agreed that my triple black feels heavier than my pX 5.5...  I'm considering going with heavier weights in my pX 5.5 ....😃

How is the feel of the triple black different than the 5.5?

Mine is still sealed in the plastic and I’m debating opening it or just flipping it. Loving my 5.5

I've played 10 rounds with mine before I shut it down for the season..

-Milling on the face is much deeper.. At first I didn't know why it felt so much "softer" or "muted" (heard that from another owner)... I kinda like it.

-Triple Black is heavier than my pX 5.5... same length but noticeably heavier.. again I like it.

-Triple Black is very stable (more than the px 5.5)

-Triple Black sits flat at address.. really like that.

I'll be rolling it all winter (when not traveling to play) to get the feel dialed in... it's kicked the pX 5.5 from my bag.

Awesome breakdown thanks! Would you say it’s 5 grams heavier? I had to actually lower the weights on my 5.5 cause even that felt heavy

I have a 34 inch 5.5 that I swapped out for 10 gram weights. Stock is 15 grams

I think it will be more noticeable in your hands... The weight change threw me for the first round, but after rolling it at home I actually prefer it.. I'm not sure if it's the combo of milling and added weight but the Triple Black feels great to me.

Harve,

You're saying your Spider is more stable than the 5.5?  Can you compare the two putters?  Interested in both.  Thanks

In my opinion the Spider X was more stable than the 5.5x.  What I mean by that is that there was limited twisting and basically effortless to keep square.  Occasionally the 5.5 would get get away from me.  Not a fan of insert putters and much preferred the feel of the 5.5 to the Spider X, but made less putts.  To me, the 11.5 is the best of both worlds.  Great feel and plenty stable for me.

I’m not sure why I would attempt my first paint fill on a limited edition putter but here it goes 😂. Those 3 dots are hard to get the right amount of paint in. I thought I messed up cause you can’t see the metal trim in the dots but I think it looks better without the silver outline

side note: did I just cut the value of this putter in half? 😂

Looks good man. You can always remove and redo, so don't worry about value.. I am actually contemplating sending my pX5.5 to get the "triple black treatment"..

  • Thanks 1
