How long does Bryson keep the vibes going?

This has been a year of highs and lows for Bryson. This weekend seemed like a turning point. Will he able to keep the vibe going with the fans, or will he blow it all in another shirtless bacon cooking video within a month?

Bryson will continue to make a few mistakes, PR-wise, but as he gets older he'll learn and be better.

His game will get better with maturity. Once he gets over the long drive obsession I think he becomes an even more complete player

I agree with the above. Bryson is a likable guy. But most guys like him are not very eloquent in their day to day actions/reactions. He is pround of what he does and his accomplishments and won't understand when some people don't see or understand something he is excited about. He will then take that derogatory or as a insult.  He is realizing the bigger you go, the greater you can miss. It seems he played that well this weekend. Go for it for a 400 yd drive or lay up and be safe with a 260 yd drive. He did both this weekend on 5.

I think it works both ways too.  I think fans have to give Bryson his due and realize that some of the stuff he does actually works.  At least, it works for him.  Fans have always taken it as being arrogant, especially since the whole Brooks/Bryson thing took off.

As far as putting in the work goes, not many guys do it more than he does.  He was on the range in the dark at Whistling Straits after his four-ball match on Saturday.  As I said in another thread he's got a chance to be a stalwart in American golf for however long his body allows him to hit the driver like he does.  To have a half-stroke or more advantage off the tee against everyone else every round is just mind-blowing.

If he can make improvements in his short game or take a different approach to how he sets his wedges up, he could be a dominant player. His iron play has been pretty outstanding recently as well.

Clearly is was the change of hats that turned the tide vibes for Bryson.

Apparently everyone is sold out of mops from how wet the floors around the country got after women realized Bryson looked good in a normal hat.

According to Brandel Chamblee last night, in the coverage after the competition was over, Bryson was there on the range Saturday until after dark, and instead of going to get some sleep afterwards, he spent a lot of time with the kids who were watching him on the range. Signing autographs and just talking, apparently. He also spent a lot of time with fans after it was all over. Bryson seems to be trying to be one of the good guys, even if he seems a bit hard to relate to sometimes. He was immediately considered a bit of an oddity when he came to the tour, being called the mad scientist of golf and what-not. Single length irons, trying the side saddle putting style, etc..... may all seem weird to a lot of spectators and other players, but he was, and still is experimenting and trying to get better. Personally, I think he's a bit of a nerdy kid trying too hard to fit in with the other guys and that can get him into trouble sometimes because he says the wrong thing or doesn't necessarily go along with the crowd. Maybe he's always been a bit of a loner and has never really felt comfortable. Hopefully, this tiff between himself and Brooks is over and put to bed and he can be better accepted by fans and players alike. This weekend helped towards that. He was a great addition to the Ryder Cup, made his point in the singles match and seemed to be a great partner with Scottie Scheffler in team competition. The fans seemed to love him. The players seemed to be a bit warmer to him. He seems to have a bright future ahead of him if he'll get out of his own way and just let it happen.

The amount of commenting about that very subject this weekend was mind-blowing. Apparently, he seems more likeable and approachable with a regular hat on than when he wears the flat cap.

He needs some PR training. It doesn't seem like he has bad intentions in mind when he says things but sometimes he unintentionally throws people under the bus because he doesn't think things through. I'm an engineer and work with plenty of people like him who just make blunt comments on things. That's fine in an office environment when you work with those people and know they don't have bad intentions. It doesn't work well when you are a professional golfer and whatever you say ends up in the megaphone that is social media.

He’s a legend, now. Driving the first green on Singles Day of the 2021 Ryder Cup — and holding up his PUTTER to show everyone in attendance, the TV production crew, and those watching at home that he was gonna walk off the TEE BOX and down the fairway with the flat stick is just LEGEND. Won’t be forgotten

The best walk in golf is a long one with a putter.

I think Bryson is good for the game. He's got energy and he's interesting. I think it makes the tour more interesting.

I couldn't stand him at first but eventually I became a fan. His spat with Koepka who I can't stand pushed me way into his corner. I think that was good for the game from an entertainment standpoint as well.

Bryson is a ******. He's my ****** though so I like him, lol. Koepka on the other hand - not for me but I can understand somebody taking the same position on his side.
