Just bugs me that he doesn't use a Wilson Driver or FW. I know its how he makes his living  but I thibk they could come up with something that would work

The man is a beast.  C-Taper 130X, TZ RPG and the Accra proto shafts are all very beefy and stout.  120+ ss and 180+ ball speed with a short back swing is no joke.

A few years ago he had a tipped X100 put into a 4wd that he was still carrying over 300...

Woodland is one of my favorite Tour players, I follow him just about any time he comes to DFW and plays either the Byron or the Colonial. Him and Finau both use swing depth to regulate club speed and a lot of average folks don't understand that, even with those abbreviated backswings, they both put a ton of shaft load into the club. You can visually see his shafts flex when he transitions into the downswing from the top. Fascinating to see.

TZ RPG.   Stiffest shaft I ever owned.  Had to add tons of head weight to feel it load. Lol. Gary strong- like bull.

Does he choose between the 18* utility iron and 7w depending on conditions, or bag them both? I'd have thought he get similar sort of distance out of them

that is what I use in my UDI.  I find its a lot more accurate that way.

I think Wilson cares about as much as they do putting out a driver that would make it compelling for any of their staffers to use. In other words, not very much. Play our irons (wedges if you can) and carry our bag and we're happy.
