Nothing new.  Too expensive.  Waste of money. Always check out the stuff that is 1 to 2 years old.

Well I was looking forward to getting a new old 3 wood.  Likely a Sim or Sim2 after whatever comes out this year.  Unfortunately I cracked the face of my driver last weekend, so that puts me in the market for a new driver.  I'll wait to see what replaces Sim2.  Where are we at with Titleist this year?  Is it a new driver year?  If not then Tsi3 is in the mix too.  Maybe I'll give Callaway another shot, haven't bagged one since the OG Great Big Bertha days.  It's time for some new wedges for next season, but I think we've already seen most of the new stuff.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new Mizuno irons -- especially the 223 model.

 

I'm also keeping an eye on any new hybrids -- my ideal hybrid would be something with the head shape of the Sim/Sim2 Max but the matte black finish of the Ping G425 and the adjustable hosel of the Ping or, even better, the Titleist hybrids. Who knows if something like that will come.

The only plans I have is to re-grip my full set with JumboMax Ultralite. I like the size medium very much on my driver, though I'll go with small on the rest. That's still 1/8" larger than my Winn Oversize, which feel puny compared to the driver grip.

Rick Shields Shiels was speaking the other day about Company soon releasing a "Game Changer" for Drivers but it has not been revealed other than he would be fitted. No company or any info other than the current line of drivers has been evolving for years now. Could be anybody. 

 

Regardless, I already went back to a driver that is almost 10 years old which is MUCH more accurate but 5 or 10 yds less distance wise.

I know you asked about equipment, but I'm looking forward to golfing again. I had ACL, MCL, and meniscus surgery in Mid-June and the surgeon expects to be 100% by/around early March.

I like everything in my bag.  I've come to the realization that changing equipment, just for the sake of getting something new, is a detriment to my game.  I consider myself a "feel" player and after I've played a club for a certain amount of time, moving to something new takes a while to adjust and affects my score negatively.  

 

Unless I can see some real immediate benefit or a very quick short term benefit, I think it's better to stay with what I have.  

 

As winter closes in, my goal is to continue trying to improve over the winter months by using my basement hitting bay to improve my ball contact with every club in my bag.

I'm set for next year. I have woods that I'm loving, two sets of irons to go back and forth between when I need something different - my cobra blades and some i210s - wedges are new with no reason to change, just got fitted for a putter and looking to make it a long term commitment - pretty much any golf ball I might choose to try is awesome. I've spent so long tinkering with my clubs, doing a full bag overhaul in the last six months, that I am pretty well set! Weird feeling!  I will probably tinker with different settings on my driver but that's about it!

 

(Now what do I do with the $200 in trade in credit I still have on 2nd swing?)
