I keep playing with the top. Just got a new driver after getting a newer 3 wood that made me buy another 3 wood. Still deciding if I want/need a 5 wood. 🤣

Somewhat on topic, just a little different...

 

My 3w was on the hot seat. It was a 17m2 and I started hitting it left too often this year. I bought and tried a bunch of 3ws. The stz has survived...but it's not yet solidified, it is close. I sold the old gamer so I will.have a 3w change. I got a pxg proto 3w 2 weeks ago and got it shafted with a ventus blue last week. It shows promise after I got it dialed in (hosel setting, weight config...).

 

The stz has been interesting. It goes straight. But I had start line issues for a while. Pretty sure the start line issues were swingweight related. It's been a non-issue after I finally found the right weight. But those issues led me to the pxg proto. And it could end up taking the spot.

 

The proto is a guaranteed fade, every single time. It or the stz will be my new gamer. Need to shaft swap the two in a few weeks before deciding. Speeder evo2 in stz right now.

Hybrid’s up for sale now...going to take a break from the Hybrid hype for a while and get better with the 5-Wood and 4-iron.

Driver.  Not necessarily any issues with it, it's just time.  I've had my eyes on RadSpeed, TSi3, G425 and SIM.  My bag has been completely overhauled in the last 18 months and driver is just the only thing left at this point.  I'm not a club ho so I tend to overanalyze these decisions because I likely won't be doing another change for another 10 years.

It’s always a merry go round with the driver. I just love the tying of different heads shafts and subjective feedback. It’s expensive but it’s my only real expense in terms of hobby and a lot cheaper than buying and having 911 Turbos modified…

Not sure how long a club takes to go from conforming list till market but I hope it is by the end of the year because I have some credit from a tournament I finished 2nd in and was hoping to use it on this.

The club in the hot seat is 3 hybrid (19*).  When I hit it I kill it, but those hits are few and far between.

I just made my changes this month for my birthday. Hated my Adams Pro 4h and my Taylormade TP ATV 54 degree. Changed the wedge setup from 50-54-58 to just 52-58 since I hated the 54 so much I never used it. Made an extra spot in the bag and got a Utility iron and then a 915h for the Adams Pro

Just replaced the hybrids with a Honma TW-X 3 iron.

Next up is replacing the 3W with the new Sub70 4 wood when it gets released in a month or so.

Driver, it’s not terrible, just checking to see if there is something better. So far, no to Titleist and TM. 425 Max was good but not sure really better than G400. Just got a smoke green shaft for the G400 to see if I hit that better than the Ping Tour shaft. I hit it a little better on the 425.

The hybrid and the 58.  I’ve finally found a groove with a 54/55 and that loft is a keeper in the bag.  The 58 will be replaced with either a MP22 or RM4 .  The hybrid is likely to be replaced with the Sim2 19. I’m done with drivers unless a small headed 440 ish TM is issued in the future.

The seat that's probably hottest would be my sand wedge. It's a couple years old now and it gets the majority of work around the green. It still seems to perform okay, but my bag is pretty set. I'm toying around with the idea of a driving iron for windy days, but that's the club ho/tinkerer in me more than anything.

Driver. Only club in my bag I didn’t pick. Won the driver head, was given the ventus black… it’s an embarrassment of riches, but might go on eBay to fund a different setup.

I have a higher lofted version of the RadSpeed that I'm playing right now on the way that I want to try out. Overall I'm happy with the current head but hos gotta ho.

 

Since I replaced everything in my bag this year except for putter, which is safe, I think that will be it.

hybrid...I just can't hit it.  I either hit it fat or snap hook it.  Right now I really need a club that's between my 4i and 3w and my current hybrid isn't cutting it.

Honestly, my iron play has been hot garbage this year since I've only been able to get out 8 times due to the newborn. Really want to downgrade to a more forgiving set, but I know I'll regret it in a few years.

6H and 7-iron. I bought a 699U 6-iron with an Evenflow Riptide hybrid from Sub70 and liked it enough on the first try to order a matching 7-iron. According to Sub70, these clubs were designed to take the place of hybrids for those who prefer the look of an iron. I like the look of the 6-iron at address and the ball flight and distance when I put even a reasonably good swing on it. Frankly, I tend to hit my 7-iron too low so with a couple of more degrees of loft and even more forgiveness than my Pings, it has a lot of potential.

 

As always, Sub70 is a pleasure to deal with.

While my irons aren't in a hot seat, I have a set on order because why not. There is another set coming around the end of the year that I will also likely get.

 

I'm ok with 3 sets of irons that fill different needs. Just need to sell the others. 🤣

Got a 4 wood.  It and I did not get along so I'm back to my 2 iron.
