Used Skytrak

Need opinions from the braintrust. I have the opportunity to purchase a used Skytrak for $1200 with protective case. The unit is 5 years old and the current owner is the second owner. No hold over subscriptions but the unit just had the updated micro usb installed. No idea on number of shots. I have current video of the unit working and performing. Do you think this is a good solid pick up? I am a little nervous about the age and the laser curtains.

i was actually reading about this today in a different forum. a skytrak rep posted the response below. in the same thread he says the same thing about the flash.

 

""Hey guys, I'm really sorry to hear about the hardware issues. A failure of the laser curtain is not typical and certainly isn't tied to any shot number (ie 14k). These lasers have an life expectancy of 10+ years, so anything premature to that must be caused by something else (ball strike or just an unfortunate hardware failure). We probably won't be able to know what caused it until getting it in for repair.""

 

im in the market for a used skytrak also, for $1200 i would snatch it up. even if you have to repair it in a year or two still a good savings. im getting fed up with ebay some shady/weird things goin on plus getting out bid because i cant sit on my computer all day. might throw in the towel and buy new

I grabbed it and it works perfectly!
