My simulator room

New member. Thought I would share my sim room set up. Has been a couple year process in one of our old out buildings we weren't using. last major thing is replacing the optishot with a skytrak.

if I really shank one the ball hits the wall or ceiling. haha. But it doesn't happen enough to worry about and it doesn't cause any damage. Screen is bigger than it looks in the pic. 

 

I might hang some large curtains from the ceiling that can pull out when playing but no rush

Yeah if it is a concern, I have a pipe that runs about 6 feet off the screen (I have 10’ from mat to hitting area to screen) and I have a net that hangs from it that I can pull back when needed exactly like a shower curtain. I only use it when my brother plays because he tends to hit some shanks that would dent my garage door.

ya that's exactly what I was thinking. I don't worry about it when I'm playing. But, if I can get a skytrak then I plan on doing a winter league for my friend group. then shanks might be an issue.

yes she is. it was actually her idea to do real flooring. I just wanted to paint the concrete for the cost savings.

thanks. i have a kegerator in the far corner behind the bar. definitely cant forget the beer fridge.

Skytrak finally came in the mail. infinitely better improvement over the old optishot

the foosball table is from an old hotel/lodge i believe. i built the shuffleboard table, and the bar. the space changes constantly as friends buy new furniture and donate old stuff. we can watch football/golf and kids can play without worrying about something getting spilled on nice furniture.

By "out buildings" do you mean disconnected from the house? How is it heated?

thanks, the building was an old workshop that we don't use on the farm. its not connected to the house. we installed a furnace to keep it warm when we have snow on the ground. 

definitely didnt forget the beer fridge!

Have you shanked one? I shank more often with the simulator. You need a sliding curtain on the right side, if you are RH.

oh ya. I put one dent in the furnace. it sits on the right side. they normally just bounce off the wood walls if you manage to miss the screen. my wife decided it will look better with a full enclosure so I will be doing that shortly with sliding curtains on both sides.

its my old optishot hitting mat i reused it and filled the old hole for the sensor. its better than the ones at local driving ranges so i kept it.

Made a few improvements prepping for winter league.

 

just finished blowing insulation into the attic of the building. already less drafty. 

 

you can see in both photos i added a photography backdrop screen from amazon to my hitting net with tarp clips. the image quality improvement is night and day. i only have a $250 sub-HD projector. 

 

repurposed some foam tiles from my workshop bench for a better hitting area. 

 

next up is build enclosure. 

 

thanks for kind words. i wouldnt trade this space for anything.

What a great transformation! Incredible. I love everything except the Seachickens Flag 😜 Go Niners! haha.. But this is perfect especially when it's cold out. I just got the Bushnell Launch pro. Started with a SkyTrack > Mevo+ > Bushnell Launch Pro. Just trying to find a cheap way of making a frame with the black curtains on the side.

 

How did you make the hitting screen straight without the balls flying back at you? Thanks!
