Best dressed Pro

Recommended Posts

Who do you see as the best dressed professional out there. Any tour. I realize many of these guys are just wearing the standard logo stuff. Some guys do stand out as well dressed.

Bonus: Please include anyone you think has an interesting unique style even if your taste.

Erik Van Rooyan is interesting. Rickie used to be. I used to lave Payne Stewarts retro look back in the day.

Can anyone remind me of that PGA pro, I think he played in the 60s/70s, who used to wear mono-color outfits. Even had a matching bag the same color. Forgetting his name right now.

Plus fours have me at "pl", thus Payne Stewart, but did not like the more color, pattern-all-over-the-place ensembles. Brooks Koepka's dark pants, white polo combo is a very nice, classic look. Don't care for the slim fit, up-the-arm sleeve cut of today, but that could be due to such does not quite work for this old soul. Prefer a more relaxed cut in the polo and a longer short sleeve than is typical, much like the cuts prior to 2K. Apart from cut, Justin Thomas is usually well-groomed, down to the shoes. Billy Horschel too. Tiger typically has a nice look, as well; the mock neck shirt wears well in any decade as does the look of Davis Love. Don't care for the new, big thing, the anklet thing, yet the classic cut of old was: a) expensive, 2) heavy, and 3) hot. Today's pants are just about right, but still prefer pleats to flat front, the former now being a more senior tour thing, I suppose. Quarter and ankle socks with long pants won't remove an A grade, but one can't score an A+ with that combination. OK on the white belt, reluctantly. The wearers will be in a few years where those of us are now who wore those things in the 70s. Misery loves company. Hats? Love to see more variety. The "baseball" cap is overdone and this person does not perceive it to be more athletic than any of the other options.

He’s fallen off in OWGR this year, but I always liked Graeme McDowell’s apparel line.

Justin Thomas always looks really well put together, classic style. Adam Scott as well but he takes a couple more risks than JT, not so much with patterns but with fits and color combos. Martin Kaymer would probably be my favorite but I'm not a huge fan of the spikeless shoes he wears. Shoes make or break an outfit in my opinion and I like a more classic style, so I'm not surprised most of the Tour guys I think are well dressed tend to wear the Premieres, the DryJoys, or the Icons.

Keith Mitchell. All Sid Mashburn, natural fabrics instead of poly everything. Maybe not the best for hot days but looks very good imo

I think Keith Mitchell is a great golfer but I never considered him very stylish. In fact, I always thought he looked like several of the guys I see at the city courses I play at. In fact his muni look is one of the things I find interesting about him.

That isn't his most flattering pic. He's got an article in GQ.

I like the natural fabrics as well. Poly looks terrible.

I completely disagree. I think looking soaked with sweat spots all over you in the heat looks terrible. Especially as cotton garments stretch out with the moisture.

Taylormade and Nike both do good a good job scripting their stables.  DJ and Colin on one side; Tiger, Rory and Brooks on the other.  Recently too, Puma has stepped up their game.  Ricky and Bryson in particular.

Jimmy Demaret wasn't too bad of a dresser back in the day.

I think so much of who looks to be dressed well  is body type as well. I don’t know if anyone could dress John Rahm so that he would appear on this list. Clothes just hang so much better on taller, slimmer frames.

The word “dumpy” comes to mind for so many (that’s speaking from personal experience)
