Rickie is 24th on the all time PGA money winners with $40M.  I think he wakes up every morning without much frustrations.

If that's true it might be the number one reason why he is the 125th ranked player and dropping....If you're weathy you can't be frustrated sure that's reality

Topics like this show just how stupid the internet has made us.  Everyone is compelled to have a 'hot take' on things they know nothing about.

This is one of the best golfers IN THE WORLD.  He has made more money than people can even dream about and seems to have wonderful life on and off the course yet some are compelled to pretend his career is a failure.

The things people post on platforms like Facebook and Instagram that people actually believe, both amazes and terrifies me.
Sorry, back to the hardships of poor Rickie! 🤣

I have no sympathy whatsoever for RF. He has been in a slump, yes, but he appears to be trending in a good direction. Given his stature in professional golf and the fact that he has made plenty of correct decisions on the advertising front equates to any move he makes henceforth being acceptable, especially if it gets him back into contention.

I guess it is the chicken or the egg all over again.

Social media gives everyone a platform, deserving or not.  It also gives people the freedom to share an opinion while avoiding the social stigma of getting laughed at which is what would happen face to face.

If I am not mistaken there was a player poll a few years back and Rickie was named something like The Most Underachieving Player.  It stung him.  And I think he agreed in interviews that he also felt he had underachieved.  None of these guys get to sniff PGA Tour level without being intensely competitive.  At the same time, Rickie is not the first to wander in the desert looking for a lost game.  Jordan went through his humbling soul searching period and appears to be emerging on the other side.  I hope Rickie gets his mojo back, contends in majors and gets one to put on his mantel.  In 2014 he was T5, T2, T2 and T3 in majors.  The talent is there.  And Rickie in contention is good for the game.

As a PGA touring pro, he is a good golfer that had a great run in 2014 and top 10 talent for a number of years. But was he ever really someone that we saw winning multiple majors over a sustained period of time? There are a lot of examples of pros that were near the top for a few years and then fell off, and not because they did a lot of commercials. I think we overstate Rickie's place in the golf world when we make a big deal about his falling off. He was is a good player, but was never an all time great.

Look at Ian Poulter. Incredibly popular, especially in Europe and in the Ryder Cup, but really not an all time great on tour. Yet everyone recognizes him, he's made an absolute fortune, and he made an impact on golf.

Not every good or rich golfer is a great.

I've never seen any evidence of Fowler being disliked by anyone on WRX, or anywhere for that matter. Discussing the poor state of his game is factual. The Root Cause is certainly conjecture. Obviously he doesn't need golf to make a great living so maybe he's simply found other ways to satisfy his life that are more rewarding than golf?

Sure I'd like to see him doing better at golf, but I'd rather see him follow his passion even if it's not golf, whatever that may be. He seems like the kind of person that can do many things well.

Here's to wishing him well in parenthood. It goes by fast.

Hi, my name is Ferguson and I don't like Rickie.

GW: Do you still think the most dangerous place on the PGA Tour is the range from Monday to Wednesday?

BC: Yeah that’s where more careers end on the PGA Tour than are helped. You start to watch players that change teachers, like they’re going along nicely with a teacher.

GW: Rickie Fowler has recently changed coaches to John Tillery and he says, “I just needed a new set of eyes.” What do you make of that?

BC: You know, I think that is so dangerous. It is so dangerous. Rickie has been an extraordinary player and having an amazing career, just on the cusp of superstardom. His coach (Butch Harmon) retires and is no longer going to Tour events, which means now you have to get on a plane and fly to Las Vegas to see him. So get on a plane and fly to Vegas or send him video. Rickie had roughly seven, eight years with a coach who helped him immediately become a better player. There wasn’t an incubation period necessary and he immediately got better.

Rickie's cool.  It's just the TV exposure to win ratio that drives some people nuts.

It's just frustrating to see someone with so much talent prioritize acting in commercials over playing golf.

My guess is that Rickie practices/plays golf 300 days per year and does commercials/endorsement work 30 days per year.

It is like it has been said many times, there are only a handful of guys playing for legacy. Most play for money. The goal of most tour guys is to be Matt Kuchar not Tiger Woods and that is just the way it is. Chucky Three Sticks has been on Tour for just over 20 years and has made $40M. He has made a nice career in spite of only 3 wins. A guy like Rickie has been able to capitalize off of the course more than most of his peers and he has the $$ to show for it.

He seems very likable and a solid pro.

yea, but he isn't playing well. Guess people expect more out of him. He was outside top 125 this year and would of had to go to korn ferry tour finals to keep full time status on PGA tour had he not won the players in 2015. That win gave him exemption on tour through 2022 season. In 2021 he didn't qualify for the masters or US Open and needed a special exemption to get into the PGA championship.

I always liked Fowler...a CLASS guy vs. some of the other entitled *** on the tour.

My brother is the same age he is and played a 2 day tournament back in his high school days.  I went out to see what all the fuss was about down in Murrieta.  Even in high school he was a + cap.  Unbelievable talent.  Ended up shooting -7 and winning the tournament by 9 shots.  His family came out to see him as well and just from seeing them interact with him and each other, it was apparent that he comes from a very humble family.

Hey babe

Yeah babe?

Its been 3 years since you hung up the clubs. You miss it?

Sometimes. Like the Masters last week when Tiger asked Bryson if there was an ant on his ball on the tee at 12. And Bryson hit 4 shanks in a row and made a 19. Would have loved to have been there to see TW win #19. Now, just not sure what to do with myself sometimes.

Hold on babe, my phones ringing. “Hello? Yeah? Oh ok, I’ll ask him”.

Hey babe, that was Netflix, they want us to travel the world and make a series out of it. You know, film you like playing some golf in Thailand and us hanging out and stuff.
