Yes, the 2019 Masters win was nice (especially nice that his closest competitors Molinari, Finau, Koepka and Poulter all conveniently drowned a tee shot on number 12.)

2019 was historic and he spotted them 4 bogeys on the round, oh yeah, he made 6 birdies.

Nothing to minimize about beating good players that couldn't handle the pressure of the moment.

Winner has the fewest strokes, that's what it is.

TW is going to have a press conference tomorrow.  Evidently, he will be at Albany this week to host his tourney in person👍

As he should. If you can hit balls, you can host your own tournament.

Golf Digest interview. Sounds like Tiger realizes that his chance at winning another major is over.

“I don’t have to compete and play against the best players in the world to have a great life. After my back fusion, I had to climb Mt. Everest one more time. I had to do it, and I did. This time around, I don’t think I’ll have the body to climb Mt. Everest and that’s OK. I can still participate in the game of golf. I can still, if my leg gets OK, I can still click off a tournament here or there. But as far as climbing the mountain again and getting all the way to the top, I don’t think that’s a realistic expectation of me.”

The perfect mind set at this time.

Hes still in a huge adjustment period. His body is feeble and everyday is a struggle. So now, just focus on the two feet in front of him, no big picture expectations, just day to day.

In a year, he’ll have his eye on the prize again; )

Tiger seems pretty happy in the Golf Digest interview. Happy to be alive, happy to still have his leg, happy to be with his family, and looking forward to one more run, even if he can't win another major.

Thats what he says now.

It’s like when I got rear ended by a giant SUV and almost rolled off the Triborough bridge and plunged into the East River.

I was like,

My God, I’m so happy to be alive! I will appreciate and savor life! No more sweating the small stuff.

Then two weeks later I be like screaming curses when some geezer pull out in front of me and drive slow 🤣

Fingers crossed his improvement progresses, he appreciates the birds blah blah, and gets healthy. Then in a year…he be sitting there watching these chumps like BK and be like, “I can take em!”

Isn't that what he has been doing for years? Pick and choose. Play maybe 15 tournaments max.

I don't think he is interested in being the #1 player in the world anymore (he already did that for a lifetime). He want to play the tournaments of his choice and be good in them. I just don't know if that can work for a grinder like him. People forget that on top of the most talent for a period of time he was also the hardest worker.

Sounds like whatever his schedule was before, it’s going to be severely cut. The Genesis plus Bay Hill plus The Memorial plus the majors. Maybe The Farmers or Honda or Valspar in a good year.

He played 10 in 2020 and 13 in 2019. I could see that as a schedule. If you look at his 2019 schedule he proably won't play WGC's  so that leaves:

Hero

Farmers

Genesis

The Players

Masters

PGA

Memorial

US Open

British Open

That is one event a month except for June (2). Then depending on where he is in the standings you play in the FedEX Cup playoffs.

That isn't an overly taxing schedule (12 max). I think he could easily do that.

Nothing will be easily done without knowing how his leg will respond. It’s one thing to hit golf shots; it’s another to potentially have to walk 30-40 miles a week on hilly areas.

Plus prepare, play practice rounds, etc.  Augusta is a tough walk with a bum leg, the Open if the weather turns bad will not do him any favors.  The US Open is grueling.  I am sure he wouuld love to play Torrey, but that is no picnic.  He will play the Hero I am sure, a warmup event or two, but I can't really envision much more than 6 events the way he is talking, plus maybe the father and son, especially if he can use a cart.

Dog running around the house, emotions and actual conversations vs. rehearsed lines. My god has Tiger progressed as a human in the past 15 years. Regardless of anything else - with what he's been through (and what he's put himself through) it's impressive to see this. Super happy for him

this is assuming we (the average golf fan) ever knew who he was as a human…

that’s a bit much to say…

I think it’s more like, “wow, Tiger has progressed in how much he reveals himself to the public”.

That’s a much better way of saying what I tried to say, agreed

Or, quite simply, Tiger has evolved as a businessman and philanthropist.  No matter what anyone says about how he doesn't need the money, he wants the money because he knows he can get it.  And be the influencer his father always professed he would be.   Tiger may actually do more in the next 30 years off of the golf course than he ever did playing.

Sadly, I think we could be talking 5 tournaments or less each year. And not necessarily all four majors.

And even more coverage of him arriving in the car park, putting his shoes on, wiping his nose, etc etc while Rahm and Morikawa are duking it out on the course.

I don't blame Tiger BTW, but jeez the coverage of anything he plays in is gonna be unwatchable.
