What if your woman plays great golf

playit

Recommended Posts

I had a gf one time who was not only a knockout, she could really play golf! She could flat hit it long and shot in the low 80s. I absolutely love to watch a woman hit a golf ball! Anyone have a gf or wife who plays well? Brag!

I think I would actually be ok if I had a gal who beat me in golf! I'd try my best but that would be a cool problem, lol.

Have you ever noticed that female golfers never get mad and pitch a fit? I've never seen that. They certainly seem to take things in stride far better than men.

I love the PGA but I also love to watch LPGA events. Some really gorgeous swings. If gals could just putt, lol. (Seems that way to me.) I watched an LPGA tournament yesterday, it was unreal, nobody was making any short to medium length putts, it was just crazy. I suppose that is just the way it is... men have better hand/eye coordination. But women sure do have nice golf swings with much less muscle.

My wife and her GF's play to 11-13 indexes, and they sometimes play the White tees, for sh** and giggles.  I've played in a few team events with a retired LPGA women in TX, we've played $$ games too.  She's a lot of fun to play with and against.

That said, there are still too many males (won't call them men) that are fragile little fellas that can't handle playing with a woman that may be as good or better at the game.  Lots of them live in LA, NOCA and on the east coast.

I don't know why anyone would be upset because a woman was better than them at something. I'd have no issue dating someone who was good at golf.

The hardest thing would be making sure you didn't always play together. Like you need some time apart at the end of the day and golf is good for that.

I got paired with a girl once who was really good, shot like 80-81 from the mens regular tees. She must've been about 25yrs old and was good looking too. Agreed its definitely attractive. I was probably about 29 or so. I definitely would've talked to her more but she was with her dad, so never got the chance to reject me.

I have no issue playing with women, if they are better than me so be it.  I don’t know if I would want to play exclusively with a significant other, just feel you need some me time on the course.

I do like watching the LPGA, and agree that they aren’t the strongest putters, but they are super consistent from tee to green. Look at Annika at the senior open she hit virtually every fairway and green, you sink a few putts and you can score well.

My wife used to beat her ex regularly, but she's only played me once and that was like 3 years ago. She went to the club with me once this year and knows how much better I am now that I actually play.

I just redid her bag in hopes it will motivate her to at least play with me.

Our first date was over shuffleboard. I had never played and she smoked me. It took about 4 dates before I could beat her. 🤣

My DW's current index is 9.1, played the same set of irons for the past 18 years and finished 3rd in the women's club championship behind two college golfers who are almost 40 years her junior. Yeah, she can knock it around.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Played with a former Swedish tour pro before and she would play off scratch and play matches against us from the blue tees so we would move one forward and she would move two back to give me a chance!! Me being about an 8 at the time she would beat me by a couple strokes as the distance made some holes very tough for her to get on the green in regulation.  But my friend who was playing off of 1 would beat her every time they played.  She was a pretty women and loved to play the game.

Also had a friend that and I watched his wife go from hitting her first shots to becoming the club champion within about a 3 year span. That would be amazing to watch your woman go through a transformation like that especially if you were equally passionate about the game.  She was out there everyday practicing and playing and it was amazing to watch her improve so fast and talking with her she was so passionate about the game.  She would beat her husband regularly and it was so funny the banter they would have and she would remind him that "her name is on the wall in the clubhouse forever!" That would be really fun to tee it up with your girl and she loves the game and can really play. That would be pretty  cool in my opinion.

I worked the bag room at a country club in high school. One lady member was late 20s, single, great looking and could play. I took lessons from her brother who was the HP at another course in the area. The whole family could play, and I played with her a lot. All the guys at the club loved on her, she often played in the Saturday money game from the men’s tees.

BTW - she would get pissed just the same as anyone else.

Two of the groups I played with at Bandon last month had couples and in both cases, the wife was the better player.

The group when playing Old Mac, turned out the wife was a former college player. Fairways and greens all day long ... and those are not easy greens to hold. Any of yall that have played it know what I'm talking about.

It was a joy to watch her play.

I play with my wife all the time. She's not better than me, but it's so much fun watching her get better. She started this season as a 34 index, and is currently a 27. I love to cheer her on when she hits a good shot. And we just played yesterday with our women's club champion actually. She can hit the ball great. And I think my wife has been learning a lot from watching her.

Having a wife or girlfriend that loves to play golf and is halfway decent at it is not a bad thing. It's great actually.

I have 2 female friends who I grew up with since my high school days.  They went to Brentwood HS, I went to Chaminade.  They were both scratch caps back then and are + caps now.  Older sister played on the LPGA tour for a season and 3 years on what is now known as the Symetra Tour now.  Younger sister is no slouch either and has played and won quite a few national and regional amateur tournaments over the years as well.  I dated older sister for about a year so I guess that would count.  They would both kick my a** all over the course as I used to be a 2 cap at my best.

My wife is a terrible golfer and has no interest in getting better.  I can’t even try to help her or she gets mad.  She also asks me questions in my backswing and will get angry if I don’t answer right away.  On the positive side, she will rub my neck and shoulders in the cart.

I would be thrilled if my wife played great golf. We would take trips and play. Thing about a partner who golf’s. You rarely have to explain how long it takes to play the game along with spesing some time at the 19th hole.

About 10 years after graduating HS, I 'reconnected' with a girl from the Golf Team who played against the boys at the time (there was no "Girls Golf Team"). We weren't in the same social circle in school, but we did share a class or two. So I didn't know she was on the team at the time. Somehow it came up during a night out that we both played. Her family was a bit more well off, so they played at the private clubs, while I clanked away at the local Muni's.

We went out to play at her club and I was not a bit surprised that she lined up at the same tees. She was an athlete and was also on the Tennis team in school ( I knew that part). She could get it out there, so the "Ladies" tees would have been no challenge for her. Not quite as long as I was, but definitely longer than most guys I played with. And she was straight (fairways, as well as 'lifestyle') down the middle. Irons were a bit shaky but serviceable and decent with the flat stick. Definitely broke 85 while I just broke 80.

As it turned out, it was one of those relationships that was "Geographically Unsuitable" after about a year and doing a lot of driving back and forth.

My wife isn't a golfer but she could be.  She is not very athletic at all (the type of person who has trouble walking and chewing gum) but she has a surprisingly nice golf swing for not having grown up playing and not playing much now.  I bought her a set of clubs some years back and she would play a little before we had kids.

I wish she would get into the game a bit more as it would make the country club sales pitch an easier one.
