Just snuck by for eagle on the last...

 

Still - a 63 for Rickie on moving day and a two-shot lead.

 

What a day for him.  It's been so long since he's been able to put it together on Saturday.  He hit EVERY GREEN today.  9 birdies, 9 pars.

 

Tomorrow is another big day for him.  People are gonna go low so he's going to have to play well.  Anyone at -14 or better has a shot I think if the weather is good...put up a 62 and post a number and see what happens.

 

Rickie had a four shot lead going into Sunday at the 2019 Waste Management and shot a bizarre two-over 74 to still win by two in rainy conditions all day.  I haven't checked the weather but I don't think Rickie can shoot 74 tomorrow and still win.

 

It'll be fun.  Rory is going to have flashbulb moments - I hope Rickie just keeps on plodding away...

The players in this field have a leg up on a ton of stat categories due to this weak course. Tournament should not be included for year long averages and counting stats.

It'll even out. Who cares about individual stats, a win is a win doesn't matter if you finish -30 or +30

From now on the only courses that count for stats are Oakmont, Merion and Shinnecock.  Any other score recorded on any other course will be considered "weak sauce" by the council unless a witness can verify that the player was using balatas and a set of MacGregors from the 1970s.  The council meets every week on the 9th green at 9 pm.

To be fair Rickie visited Butch twice the week of the Shriner's event in which he missed the cut. So did Butch's presence last week cause Rickie to miss the cut? Or was that a coincidence? 🙃🙃🙃

The Bibigo wontons at Costco are really good...the big bag will last for a long time.

 

Some chicken broth, noodles, veggies and some wontons make for a nice breakfast and/or lunch.

As pointed out by the locals...no wind and nothing ready better in these guys way.  I think they could have set the course up more difficult, but maybe not.  At that elevation, these guys are eating it up.

I wonder if someone in the chasing pack will shoot the lights out, and whether the leaders may stall.

 

A few players still have a decent shot at the win.

Forecast for this afternoon in Las Vegas is for a high of 81 and wind less than 10 mph.  It will be a bit cooler up on the hill side west of the city.  In other words,  perfect.  There are some potential extremely difficult pin positions on this course but I doubt they will use them.  I think the PGA tour likes lots of birdies and volatility, and will set up the course accordingly.  A misplaced drive into the desert will probably be the difference.  It is great leaderboard and should be a lot of fun to watch.
