What does he typically do at the top of his bag during play? 3 fairways, then 4 iron? Or does he choose 5FW or 7FW based on course and then go right to the 3 iron every time?

Already back to the p7TW.  I’m guessing that set is one like tigers set and not like the retail set.

As in weak lofts? I’m playing VR Pro right now and would like to get a set of P7TW at some point.

I’m meaning that tigers irons were reported to be made of 1025 ( or something like that ) instead of 1020 like the retail ones.  I’d have to search that discussion out here.  Maybe later today I’ll have time. But it was being said that his actual irons weren’t made from the same as the retail ones.

I suspect that Tommy got tigers off casts to start with. Then they made him a set with his name on them.    Him swapping back to an obviously used set , makes me wonder if the TW set is indeed different than  his TF set?

I’m phrasing all that as a question.  Not a declaration.  Before some TM fanboys go berserk.

Agreed. They are very nice irons. Honestly Nike blades/P7TW are my favorite shapes aside from Miura. Blade length is perfect, top line is great, and they're weirdly easy to hit.

Tigers p7 irons were milled out of a solid block and it was different metal, Rory's protos are the same way and he hasn't switched them out. They have more precise lines and finish.

Rory's protos look way better than the p730 retail, retail ones have real blocky and sharp edges on the sole etc. Rory's are softened a bit and I'm guessing plays a bit thinner on the sole as result.

It was said when Tiger switches out his set that he would play the retail ones. I don't know if that ever happened, he won the masters with the milled ones and Rory still plays his milled set that he has had for years.

intereting question. Would you guys rather have a set made for Tiger from taylormade or if Tiger went to titleist and they made a Tiger set just for him? I'm going titleist all day for that set

I always want to like Titleist sets, but find that every recent TM iron I hit works very, very well. The P730 admittedly has the sweet spot pretty much in the shank of the club which does not work for many, but the P7MC, P7TW, P750, P770 (1st gen), P760 were all amazing clubs IMO.

JW: Tommy’s TF Proto, any tweaks adjustments made VS the P7TW, or are they just stamped differently? We know the lofts will be a bit stronger than TW’s gamers.

AR: No changes beyond being stamped with TF, which is our way of showing him some love.

Right. But it’s that including material?  TM has a way of omitting details that they assume the general public ( rightfully so ) won’t know about.  I’m not saying they did here. I’m saying they didn’t specify materials.  So they omitted it altogether.  If they are indeed identical. Why isn’t he playing them ?

They have done better with p series. Overall they are little too gimmicky to me for irons though and quick to implement it. There was issues with the slot tech especially in the PSI tour irons and was talked about among the tour players. I talked with the founder of club champion about this and he was explaining some of this to me. I’ll play their drivers and fairways woods all day everyday though.
