3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? Would replace my 5 wood that I get inconsistent carry numbers from. Looking for a 240 carry club that I can rely on hitting that target carry distance.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? Have hit it on simulators and love it, but would really like to test it in the “real world” different lies, off a tee, out of the rough, from clean lies etc.  to see if it does what the marketing says it will do.

5. Do you agree to take high quality photos, write an in-depth review, and be part of an on-going testing thread? Yes

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag?

replacing the 5 wood at 19*. I don’t like to use my 3 wood off the turf.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex UtilityWood?

I just want a bit more control at 18-19* than I get with my 5 wood, I certainly can’t hit a 3 iron and my hybrid has gone cold the last year.

5. Do you agree to take high quality photos, write an in-depth review, and be part of an on-going testing thread?

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? I currently switch between a 2/3 Srixon ZXU.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? That spot in my bag has constantly rotated between utilities, hybrids, and 7 woods. I would love to find something that was as accurate as my utilities easy to elevate as my 7w, and as versatile as my hybrids.

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? The 17 degree version would be perfect to drop my 3 wood and reduce the gap between my woods and irons (I currently play an extra wedge).

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? The Apex utility wood would be perfect.  My fairway woods and transition into my irons is a mess.   I consistently try to avoid shots in between driver and 4 iron.  Traditional hybrids are terrible looking to me.  This club may be the answer.

5. Do you agree to take high quality photos, write an in-depth review, and be part of an on-going testing thread? yes, absolutely.  It is getting near the end of season here.  Because of ground conditions, carry is at a premium.

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? It would be a perfect fit between the 3 wood and 4 iron. I have a driving iron now for the distance aspect but I am losing out on the high ball flight that may help me stick the green.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? I think this club can be a super beneficial to attack greens where I would generally hit driving iron and roll out too far. The tech looks awesome and I have been looking into hybrid alternatives.

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? I’m not the best with driver so I often times use less than driver off the tee, and it would be nice to have something in the 230-240 yard range that’s more forgiving than my 3i.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? So I have an excuse to get the clubs back out this winter!

2. Handicap? 14.6

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? I see the Apex Utility Wood fitting in as a replacement to my 7 wood and 3 hybrid that I currently use, trying to fill the gap between my 5 hybrid at 185 yds and my 3 wood at 230 yds.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? I routinely switch between my hybrid and 7 wood in my bag and would like to have a club that yields characteristics of both. I love woods and the forgiveness and high flight I get from it, but want something that is more playable out of the rough, along with fairways and off the tee. I hit on the shorter end and often need a hybrid or wood to play on my second shot with the ability to overcome whatever lie I am off the tee and have that high flight and soft landing capability to stick the fast and undulating greens at my home course.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? Looking for a club that fits after 3 wood. 5 Woods usually have a close gap with my 3 wood and a huge gap between 4 Iron or 4 Hybrid. 3 Hybrids do the opposite, closer gap to 4 iron/4 hybrid with a giant gap to 3 wood.

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? I have 5 wood and 3 wood and would look to move to UW to eliminate one of those clubs.

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood?  I am very interested in the design and versatility of the UW. Hard part is the decision to pick a fairway wood/hybrid set up that suits all courses.  Therefore if I was able to have one club that met the requirement I could have fewer choices and confusion at the top part of the bag.

3. How would the Apex Utility Wood fit into your bag? Would replace my current hybrid to bridge between my 4w and 4i

4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Apex Utility Wood? I really like the idea of consistent spin, reduced draw bias, and tighter dispersion. My current hybrid can get me in trouble with over-drawing. The stated steeper decent angle to help the ball stop quicker is a great advantage for approach shots on par 5s. This would also be great off of the tee for me for shorter holes

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
