Have any of you watched Squid Game?

I just started watching Squid Game and I am hooked onto the show. I'm halfway through it and it is messed up. I just finished the 4th episode and the old man is definitely my favorite character in the show. I've been watching the english dubbing the first time around because I'd rather listen then just read the subtitles. Might need to watch it in Korean a 2nd time around.

Watched it and enjoyed it. I watched ‘The Chestnut Man’ on Netflix after and it’s worth watching as well. Actually enjoyed it more than Squid Game.

I think I have 2 episodes left. I had to see what all the hype was about. One of the better series I've binged this year. I would have never returned after the first game. There are better ways to make money haha.

I couldn't make it through the first episode.  Apparently I'm an outlier because 100% of the people I've spoken with about it love it.

Also, Netflix and other pay scripts need an "English only" filter. I don't want to read subtitles.

Fun show, far more enjoyable when we turned the English overdub off and watched in Korean with subtitles.

Good show, but "fun" would be the last word I'd use to describe it. 😀

Id much rather read subtitles than the cheesy dubbed acting. I like hearing different languages. Their nuances usually reflecting the “cultural persona” of the country.

Yeah, I don't want to hear dubbed English either.

Ha, thanks ms. You immediately transported back to “the day” as a kid.  Those karate movies be on Channel 7 in NY I think like Saturday afternoon. 
 

We used to do the voices and sound effects all the time for laughs. One time we did a whole skit for some class freshman year in HS. This kid, he was Korean, played a character. He was actually a total bad@as himself this kid. Totally knew martial arts and could bench like 300lbs freshman year!

I guess since I grew up watching Anime, the dubbing didn't bother me too much. There were a few super cringe moments but overall I thought it flowed once you got into the show.

Watched the entire thing and wish I didn't. I am not into torture porn/excessive violence. Despite that there was enough going on that I kept coming back to see the next episode.

I watched a highlight or whatever on YouTube and just no interest in the show. To be fair I don't get drawn into a lot of shows like most people.

Another good one. Started watching ‘The Outsider’ on HBO. Based on a Stephen King novel. Good stuff!

Yeah? will check it out but that HBO app is a disaster. Doesn’t it constantly freeze, no sound, just lame for ya?

 

I saw that so many people hate it even HBO acknowledge it’s terrible.

 

Barely got through the Sopranos move with multiple issues. Actually was pretty good movie.

I might need to rewatch it a second time without the overdub. I watched it more for the storyline and less the actual dialogue. The episode with the marble was sad AF

Chestnut Man was great!  If you really want to watch a fantastic foreign Netflix series then try "Dark".  it'll blow your mind!

Never read the books but saw the first Dune in the 80s. That movie was so lame 🤣

Watched Dune over the weekend. Visually stunning film. I enjoyed it. I had no idea it was split into 2 parts and this was only part one!
