PXG Irons

Hoping to hear your comparisons between the Pxg and the Pings

Initial thoughts are they are very good looking. They seem to be more forgiving than they look. The stiff  elevate tour  shaft feels very smooth. Maybe a little soft for a stiff flex. I had the PXG jumbo grips put on them but I will be replacing them. I am used to the CP2 and these are smaller. Very happy overall.

I have played Mizuno for years but now on the PXG wagon.  Hitting the OG 0211s and really like them but got a deal on some GEN 4 Ps and can’t wait to hit them.
I’ve been told that the Ps are the closest to the 0211s as far as blade length, forgiveness, sole width and offset??  Any input would be appreciated!  I’m holding on to my 0211, they are going to be hard to get rid of.   Thanks

So just like Erikro, I was playing Ping i210's  and switched to the PXG 0211 ST blades. I have the 5-GW and the forged wedge in 54 bent to 55. Just like Erikro said, they are more forgiving than they look. I played blades most of my whole life. I had a set of MP 20 MB's last year for a few months but I just didn't like them that much.  I like these better. When I was younger, the blades I played were all blades from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. So I was really accustomed to no bounce and a very sharp leading edge. These irons have enough bounce and a softer leading edge to make them very playable. I had mine bent two degrees weak from 5 iron all the way up to the 8 iron and then the 9 iron is bent one degree weak. I got the elevate tour shafts in stiff and honestly I can't tell the difference between those and my DG 120's. Apparently, neither could Matt from TXG. Lol. I like these irons so much I'm going to get the 60° forged wedge also. I think in three or four weeks I'm going to go into one of their stores and get fitted for their new driver and a hybrid also. I am very impressed with how good their equipment is and the quality of the workmanship. Very first rate. I probably have been one of their biggest skeptics up until now. I take all the negative stuff I may have said about PXG back (very minimal anyway). These irons are very consistent. Realistically, probably not more consistent than my i210's if iron Byron was hitting them, but I just seem to hit the PXG irons better. I think the turf interaction and sole design are better for me as it's closer to what I grew up playing.  Obviously the i210's are absolutely amazing clubs. They just won a PGA tour event last week. Nothing against them at all. Just for me and my preferences, I prefer the PXG blades. My miss hits generally speaking are fairly slight. I'll hit one a little off the heel or a little of the toe at times but not horrendous usually. My miss-hits with these may be a few yards shorter than they would be with my i210's. I am willing to live with that. I think overall my good shots will improve with these and my bad shots will not be much worse than they already are. One of the main things these irons do for me is increase my confidence in my ability to strike the ball purely. That in and of itself will help me play better and shoot lower scores. Plus, they feel awesome and look good behind the ball at address.

My order arrived today, one week from when the order was placed. Gen 3 0311P 4-GW, Sugar Daddy 56 & 60, Elevate 95 shafts. Specs were spot on. I’m going to give the steel shafts a go but may re-shaft with KBS TGI 95 if my elbow starts acting up, which I’m suspecting it will. For me, Gen 3 were better than Gen 4 because they spin a little about 400-500 more, I struggle with spin too low. Looking forward to giving them a go. I’ve had really good success with my driver.

I'm jealous. I'm 16 days past my order date and I'm still in order received status. I spoke to PXG today and asked if there might be a component issue with my order to explain the delay but they said there wasn't. They couldn't explain why I'm seeing people with orders of the exact same clubs as me after my order date having already received them.

I ordered on 11/28 and just received mine yesterday so hopefully you’ll get yours soon.

I was able to hit my 0211 STs and they felt great. I was hesitant about the Elevate Tour shaft but after one garage session they felt good.

Anyone still game the Gen2 0311P's?  Just picked up a like-new set for cheap to test out the graphite shafts in them.  I've really like the OG 0211's, interested to see how the two sets compare.

Just got my 0211 blades and these things feel amazing. Pretty forgiving, clean lines, minimal offset. Not sure how I feel about these Elevate tour x-stiff shafts yet. Need to give them a few more rounds, they definitely feel a little different than my DG 120 X100’s with my Mizuno 921 SEL’s. Not sure if it’s the shafts or I if it might be a swing weight difference then my previous irons, but spec sheet says stock D3 which should be fine. Curious if anyone has thoughts?

I’ve ordered from them three separate times and never had this done.

When I ordered my irons a NorCal rep reached out via email to see if I wanted to cancel my factory order and find a fitter near by to get dialed at best pricing available. Since I took advantage of the Black Friday $75 sale with the stock X-stiff shafts I declined the offer cause I knew it would be more expensive. He just thanked me for response and congratulated me. Haven’t heard from PXG since. I also didn’t get option on website to choose swing weight, but the spec sheet says they are standard D3 not D0. Have only hit them for a day but they feel amazing.

Very nice. IMO hands down the best looking iron (club actually) PXG makes.
